Im looking at the K shop and I see a few kinds of special ore for refining.

enriched - saying it boosts the chance to refine

and HE - that stats its used for +7-9 and keeps the weapon from breaking

This sparks a few questions before I go and buy some

1: can I use the HE on a lower upgrade level to prevent breaking?

2: does anyone know just how much the enriched and HE boosts the refine rate?

3: is there an HE ore for armor that prevents armor from breaking as well? it only states on the weapon ore that it wont break the item.

4: I remember something about some smiths being better at refining in some cities then others. however it seems only one npc deals with the special ore. does he give any kinda boosted rates as well?

from what it looks like for me not knowing the answers rite out, that refining a weapon or armor from +4 to +7 is very very high risk.and costly. I see safe to 7's flying about all over the place and thats making me wonder if I will need them just to get to the point to use HE ore.

You need a minimum of +7 to use HD, otherwise it's not even an option

I don't know how much Enriched increases the chance by, but HD actually lowers the success rate

HD Elunium for all your non weapon equips.

All smiths should have the same upgrading rate. Although a Mastersmith or Mechanic with the right setup should have a small advantage with regular elu/ori, they can't compete with enriched or safe certs.

Most people would hold out for certs these days, depends on what you're trying to upgrade. They themselves aren't cheap considering even though they won't break your item they might still not upgrade it

Enriched can be used at any point (but pointless 1-4)
Enriched has a slightly higher chance to succeed but if it fails the item will break if using the Normal Enriched NPC(unless the weapon is +7 or higher and your using Enriched Hammer in which case fail = downgrade)
Mighty hammer can upgrade with HD ore if the item is +7 or higher. The success rate is LOWWWWWWWWWWW and items can bounce around +2 and +3 a lot.. make sure you have a LOT of HD ore when using him unless you get lucky
