Sooooo basically, sellers are butthurt? That's what I'm seeing o: :p_smile:

Pay to win players are butthurt because their precious 1k WPE is worth 1/3 of what it used to be.

Eventually gear prices will fall to the point that breaking them using regular/enriched ores will be more economical compared to using the safe certificates. Who's going to waste safe certificates on a 200k piece of gear?

Without safe certificates, getting an armor or a level 4 weapon to +7 will require on average 10.5 pieces of gear using regular ores, or 3.1 pieces of gear using enriched ores.

Again 11 or 3 extra pieces being removed is always better than zero... right now its only one piece for individual, then you have particular pieces like shields which most people like to +7 and have a whole set of race shields, but the average is very very low compared to the pieces that normal or enriched ores removed from market. RO doesn't get that many new players to keep the demand up, eventually stuff will devaluate tremendously...

2) Think critically about item utilization before release. I specifically want to discuss the Eat Gear Rideword here. This NPC was the culmination of a great effort by the GMs and does decrease the pool of durable items. The problem is, it doesn't decrease the correct pool of items. Recall that users only use Safe7 for not just high-value items, but the highest value items. If this is the case, you need to specifically reduce the pool of the highest value items in order to balance out the negative price impact of Safe7 certs. The Eat Gear Rideword does not achieve this because it simply does not offer enough incentive for people to turn in the highest-value gear. The Valk/Diab turn-in NPC was a decent attempt, but unfortunately it links the value of the gear to the value of Safe7 certs. The value of the certs in turn depends specifically on the aggregate value of only the most valuable items on the market (i.e. the items people are expected to use the certs on), which has been in decline due to monotonically increasing supply. Thus, it is unclear that either of these NPCs will defray the oversupply problem due to HD/Safe7/Enriched.
