A couple months ago iRO changed the effect of the Elemental Sword to have a chance to enter an activation phase for a few seconds when doing a physical attack. During this activation phase all physical attacks will set off the bolt combo. Reflected damage can trigger the bolts as well.

This is the hilarity that ensues when you use the Royal Guard's Reflect Damage when mobbed and have an Elemental Sword equipped.

Gravity probably didn't foresee this happening lol. This isn't anywhere near overpowered however. I tried get exp by doing this in Juperos, and I usually couldn't survive the mob long enough for the bolts to kill the mob, even while using the best def gear I could. With matk in general being hit with the nerf stick, it's really hard to abuse this at all. IMO the sword should stay the same because it isn't gamebreaking and is funny as hell, but it's up to the almighty GMs.

Btw I noticed one of my screenshots ended up looking like a this. ICE BEAM !!

They might have to return it to the old method. The old method isn't really an issue in renewal anyways, the bolts won't come near to being an issue like it was previously.

Another thing is GC damage procs it as well. In other words, when you use GC, the damage you deal to yourself activates your own reflect, therefore, making you cast skills on YOURSELF (Since you're technically attacking yourself.). It was funny in PvP as I made me asura myself while wearing RoR and RoFL.

Looks like... How Hindsight would look if Baphomet Card worked with it!

I have an itch to make a Royal Guard now.

Doesnt need the reflect damage skill of Royal guard, all you need is a reflect source of any sort.

Saaaaaaaay an sinx with elemental sword main hand, moonlight dagger offhand, valk mant and kaahi buff from a soul linker. Royal gaurd does do it better of course since they get equip reflect and skill reflect for twice the impact. Sinx gets the advantage of getting SP back with each reflect to power kaahi.

The damage is pretty low - sometimes below 100 a hit per bolt so it's like the OP said, you usually can't survive the mob

the reason RG 'do it better' is because the Reflect Damage skill is AoE, so insted of hiting one target once for being hit, you hit everyone around you once per time you're hit...

So if you have a mob of like 15 on you then you get into the sword's proc state... each monster hits you once so you hit each monster 15 times (15 on each monster so like 225 procs?) What's really funny is doing this with the flame lord set too since the bolts seem to have th chance to set off the ring procs... for fun I just about and put in more auto casting card (like meteor storm and such) just for the chaos.

But yeah, my RGdoesn't do a whole lot to the high end monsters with it... still it's very entertaining~

This was fun in MVPing. Tested it on Osiris and the bolts were raining like mad. But the damage was fairly low for it to be significant. I'd see damage around 200-400 per bolt and that was with around 100+INT

It would work perpetually with a moonlight dagger. You'd get 3 SP every time you dealt damage, so you'd never go below max. Ever.

Depends what you set kaahi to, you'll often need more than level 1.
