I have noticed a reduction in killing bots (hopefully I'm not mistaken). However, everyday I see more of those Spam Bots in Prontera.
I was wondering if there isn't a person in charge of banning them, since I know that GMs and admins may not necessarily have the time to be ingame frequently. In case there isn't, I would strongly suggest so.

If spam bots annoy you, you can always use the "nospam" file inside the "data" folder in your Ragnarok Online folder.
There you can setup some filters to block any unwanted chats... it works wonders.
I have ages without being bothered by spam bots.

Those bots aren't really a threat to players and probably take a back seat in terms of piority. They are also quicker to set back up for the botters.

This exactly. What helps put the hurt on bot zeny sellers is actually getting reports about their farming bots, and especially their bot merchants. If you see merchants selling suspicious amounts of items from maps that are often botted, we can neutralize their money supply.

Have you considered using lightly irradiated zenny to track bots like in Batman?

You're welcome, if you have problems send me an email. On a lighter note, it'll get some improvement soon as well as expanded features and an external program to help those who aren't very savvy with config files.

Hmmm, if the bot killing is being taken seriously then I'm going to start reporting a lot of the bots I see when I hunt for shiz. Just this last week I saw like 4 GX bots, 2 RK bots, and a Ranger Bot with an AB bot hunting the desert wolves map. I didn't bother reporting cause it didn't really seem like anything would happen...but your post fills me with enthusiasm. Ima go back there right now and screencap each one and report. >:U

OMG if you're trying to actually round up bots, just go to spores, ant hell, and elder willows every single day and ban every acolyte/thief/rogue/priest on those maps. It's not like you don't know where they are.

i still dont understand why they cant put in a spam blocker like rcx has. it works great AND it doesnt lag your system if the nospam file is huge. dont think its too difficult to add somthing client side that blocks whoevers spaming the same thing 10x a second

We have rewritten nospam from scratch and it will be put in at some point. It also has more features added to it for other annoying messages.

If someone has the current working source of RCX we would be more than happy to implement some of its features into the game directly. Right now I've been working on a few of the features that got an okay from Heim from scratch since there is no source available that I know of.

Oda is normally the only one available out of the GM's to do bot cleaning duties, it seems. >_> I wouldn't want to waste his time on easily replenished bots on the lower-end maps when he should be cleaning up bot merchants connected to the farming bots to get rid of the zeny they're making to sell for $. Get rid of the zeny and you'll get rid of the spam bot company's means of making real money.

That and Trans 3rd Classes would take a longer time to remake towards that level than bulk Rogues.
