Finally with the implementation of the Crystal Defender arena I can post this long over-due guide to a stealth scout.

notes:
-A stealth scout will ONLY be useful for the 100-140 bracket, as after 140 the damage is too low to contend.
-This is a Hybrid class, nothing that was intended to be built, however I've had this build for about 2 years and never released it.

-What is this class build?

This class build takes advantage of both the hawkers bow skill tree and the raiders skill tree. In essence you are a raider, the difference is you use bow instead of katars/duals.

The tactic with this class hybrid is to utilize cloaking with ranged weaponry. This works believe it or not as I've tested it many times in DOD, and to my surprise, works well.

You can use stealth to hide but not attack, simply use this to not draw attention upon yourself. Once dispelled, you may enter cloaking, the fact the enemy has their de-cloak on cool down [unless been stunned as well] you're free to attack for up to 18 seconds before you become visible again.

Unlike the classic raider, you're at a range to avoid AoE attacks. Also depending upon the range of your weapon, you may also be out of range of the de-cloaks AoE. Most people [especially champions] will not max their decloak seeing as lv 1 have 100% de-cloak success, more points only increases the range. and most forgetful players, will swap that SP for more AP passive. The maximum range for a lvl 1 de-cloak is 18m, so a +18m bow/xbow is recommended.

Skills to get

Hawker Basic Tree
~Common
xxx

~Bow
Bow Mastery 10
Clamp Arrow 9
Shackle Arrow 9
Double Arrow 9
Triple Arrow 9
Stun Arrow 1

~Melee
Katar Mastery 18
Focused Impact 9
Knuckle Mastery 9
Poisen Knife 9
Venom Knife 4
Stealth 4

~Raider Tree
Combat Weapon Mastery 9
Advanced Katar Mastery 9
Cloaking 4
Mystic Knife 1

The last 8 Points are for you to distribute how you see fit.

Gems:
Few people tend to notice this but the split stat gems are superior than single stat gems. [excluding str, dex, int, con, sen, char gems]. The reason I say this is because for example, a Jade 7 gives 20 dodge and 5% dodge. Where a Star Agate 7 gives 10 acc, 3% acc, 10 ap, 3% ap. in total that is still 20 and 6%. Extra 1% at 1,000 is 10 points/stat so 20 total, doubling the effect of the gem only at 1k. I suggest you pick 2 hard code stats [not dex str etc] and get the gems that fit it. This way if you have a full set of gems you have a 5% advantage over someone using the other... but you don't have to if you want to.

The way I ordered these also isn't how you need to do it either.

[How to Play this]
The best technique is to "harass" the other player. By poisoning with Venom Knife then cloaking, running away and range shooting them [while cloaked]. Once your cloak expires, or you get debuffed, stun shot them, if that doesn't work use Mystic Knife to sleep them, at any point it's best to run away if neither of those work, long enough to stealth and run back in to finish the job after poison does it's work.

Stat Distribution

Use the same stat point distribution as a scout. Adding in STR only if you plan to use a crossbow. The debate between DEX/SEN/CON amount's has been going on for a loooong time so it really is up to you.

Side notes: I haven't confirmed is exp is allocated for C.D.'s if so carry no exp scrolls with you to nullify the exp gained, so you don't breech 140. Also this tactic and build works best while staying in a group, the less attention on you the better.

Have fun, I know i will ;)

Nope, you have to have a katar equipped to do it -disadvantage- but it's also a CD build, mages with debuff are going to even that playing field. The bonus to not having buffs on during this type of harassing is noone can see where you are. the only give away that a stealthed/cloaked hawker is near by is the buffs.

You have all the katar skills necessary to deal damage with both, what I'm getting at is once your target is debuffed, you can clock, run away switch to bow and out range their de-cloak for 18 seconds. It's a hybrid because it uses both, the bow is more of your back up and katar is still main. It's not an easy class to play but once you got the hang of things, its super fun. like a dual wield champ, people told me it's not worth it, yet i destroy people with my dual champ at the lv 100-140 range. they jut suck after 155.. lol

Its fun going close range with raider and then run and swap to bow give them mvs debuff etc its really fun to play if there is a none buffs pvp area :)

But to bad i gonna quit this game.. next week guildwars 2 beta weekend cheers!

Uhmmm this build sounds awfully familiar...

I had a lot of fun with this, especially when mental storm used to be twice as effective as it is now.

@fade. If someone posted a build similar its highly possible I missed it. I was inactive for several months at a time a few times.
