There are two big conveniences to the Item Mall Buffs. The first is MP Efficiency. The buffs are AoEs, so that you should only have to go through your buff skills once in order to buff your entire party. The other advantage to this is that, after learning all of the Item Mall Buffs, you can then skill reset, and put your points somewhere other than those prerequisite buffs (of course, you should only do this if you ONLY plan on buffing [strictly] party members).

Other than that, no, there's no huge advantage. (Though I *do* have all of these, plus the IM Res Skill, Soul Restore, on my cleric.)

It's tempting the fact that i can buff my whole party at once, but sounds like a waste of skill points as I have a lvl 70 dealer that I like to buff along with my mercs....

May be when I'm a higher lvl and I have the skill points to waste, thank you very much for your imput, you saved me from wasting quite a few skill points

Item Mall Skills do not require Skill Points -- they're free to learn. As long as you buy them, of course. [; So...if you're only worried about wasted skill points, then get them! You won't be using any at all!

EPIC! thanks alot! -_- but wait?

shouldn't soul recall not require skill points in that case?

Soul Recall: the unique skill does require skill points.
Soul Restore: the item mall skill does not require points and it restores more lost exp.

@CaNehDa - Phish is correct. This is true for all Unique and Item Mall Skills. They are completely separate. All Unique Skills require skill points to learn and level, while Item Mall skills do not level (if I am correct -- I know the buffs and Soul Restore don't), and do not require skill points.

so skill reset has no affect on skills learnt from item mall? (this is good)

That's right! So you could essentially get all of the Item Mall Skills, then reset your skill points, and you don't have to get the prerequisites for the Item Mall Skills after you reset -- you could even go pure Battle Cleric, and still have those Item Mall Skills to be able to buff yourself (and your party). Of course, keep in mind that you will NOT be able to buff summons, or anyone outside of your party with these buffs.
