Hey there =)

I'm actually a monk (and a new player, as you might figure by the question i'm about to ask), and there are these nice four claws that have a chance to cast Lv5 endows on you (http://db.irowiki.or...item-info/1820/ for example). Or more specifically, "on your weapon", which is the reason for my question:

Do the endow spells actually buff your character, or the weapon you are wearing when the endow is cast on you?
I'm asking because having those fist weapons around seems incredibly handy, especially if you can just get them to proc their Lv5 endow and then switch to a stronger weapon, like maces or knuckles of your choice (because the endow fists have pretty puny ATK), basically using the endow weapons as "buff slaves".
I figured the mage section might be the best place to ask this.

Tyvm for reading =)

I suggest you use Mace (Mace weapon got higher ATK than Fist weapon) as your main weapon and get an Endow Slave sage. Fist with chance to Endow your weapon will overwrite your current endow that you have (Example your Fist weapon endowed with Fire element and your Wind Endow on Fist procs. It will overwrite the Fire Element Endows and change it to Wind Element Endows. Swapping weapon also results in losing your current Endow buffs.

Thanks for answering so quickly and providing your insight =) I fear an actual second character just for buffing is not too much of an option right now, i just reached Monk with my "main" and don't really have much time on hand. I will consider this once i transcend with him though, i guess at some point it becomes inevitable =)
It is really good to know though that the endow spells actually endow your weapon and not your character, something i couldn't find on irowiki, thanks for your help =)

Nearly everyone here has buff slaves. If not you, then probably someone in your guild or one of your friends.

And my friend has actually tried to level with the Endow claw weapons. From his experiance, the proc rate on them is REALLY LOW. It's faster and easier just to make a simple Sage Endow slave.

The Mild Wind helms on the other hand do proc with some sort of regularity though. So get the Mild Wind helms if you don't want to have a Endow Slave. Mild Wind increases damage much higher than Endow anyway.

Thank you~ i guess there is no way around making a slavesage sooner or later anyways. The longer i level anything without one, i'll hate myself for not having made a sage on a second acc in the first place. Actually this will be my third account then, i don't really want my buffer to be on the same acc as my merchant. I just don't really like the prospect of having to level up a sage to around lvl 70ish without the acc being VIP, but i guess theres no use in procrastinating^^

Alrighty, making a sage it is then.

You don't need to level a sage to 70. Job is what matters, then you can forget about that sage forever. Most Buffer slaves get all their endows by level 55~60

Should only take an hour to make a Endow sage slave.

Probably going to be impossible for you then.

If i were to make a naked Mage with only eden equips and 0 zeny, it'd probably take me.....1 hour to make an endow slave then actually now that I think about it.

2 ways to go about it, have equpment already on hand and just blast everything in your abusing friends/guildmates and your super god equpiment.

Or 2, make a Kunai ninja on a 2nd account and leech Mage at Magmarings.
http://db.irowiki.or...info/ve_fild03/

Mind you, both of these require money, but the Kunai ninja at least a little bit less. 1000 Ice Kunais will only cost you 38k(with level 10 Discount) to make.

Sticking high level gear on a low level mage pretty much assumes you already have the couple million income to buy gear. Which is also assuming you had a Wizard/Warlock/Sage/Scholar character to have the lower mage borrow gear for as well.

If you have no need for a ninja on the 2nd account, then just delete him after your done with him. Kunai ninjas as of now are so damn fast at leveling that they make excellent Leechers. If both accounts are VIP, then having 1000 Wind Kunais and taking them both to Overlook Dungeon, you can make an endow slave in 30 minutes.

Oh i see =) well, not really much point in leveling super fast and rushing it anyways if you're still figuring it out the basics of the game. Anyways, thanks for your help =)

edit: yes, overlook dungeon was the place i spent the most time leveling my monk so far (who is about 70 by now); which is also why i was asking about endows in the first place, because everything in there is wind vulnerable =D i'd love to get some kaiser knuckles or some flora cards and an endow, but right now, that seems a bit out of reach - which, again, isn't too bad, i wouldn't want to end up being high lvl and not having seen/done anything than speed through a couple of leveling spots.

Actually, i'm of the opinion you will actually enjoy all the side stuff AFTER you get your first level 90+ character. Even back in pre-renewal, I didn't start caring about all the story quest and random headgear hunting till i was at least 95....for 5 of my characters.

That way you have the income for random kafra warps because the NPCs will constantly direct you to EVERYWHERE. Then you have ways to farm for the random items that the NPCs tell you to hunt.

I find it hard to enjoy any of the side distractions when I had no money and no income and no gear at all.

Basically what I'm saying is that I didn't do any of the other stuff untill i actually became bored of leveling.

I tanked my guildmate his first 2 characters to rebirth in a week and tank his 7 other characters to 70+ in 4 days. Now that the hard noob leveling is outa the way for him, he can do all the exploring he wants without having to worry about not having money or some random monster killing him.

It's kinda hard to explore random maps with a level 40 character when the 60+ aggressive mobs are out for blood.

Now you've got me intrigued though, on the ninja thing. I read up somewhere (i think it was on irowiki) that kunais can't miss - i guess the tactic then is to just keep cicada skin shed up and throw kunais like there is no tomorrow? That sounds feasible to me =D

Pretty much. Throw Kunai actually got buffed while Magic Ninja's got nerfed. Although technically, the entire magic system got nerfed, which in turn nerfed Magic Ninjas.

Throw Kunai used to have "Miss Damage". Meaning if you used Throw Kunai on a monster and the attack was supposed to have missed, instead of doing usual 5000 dmg you were supposed to do, it would be like 300 damage. They threw that mechanic away though. So now it does full damage no matter what.

This means that with Max Level Throw Kunai, all STR(cause you need no dex), you can kill Magmarings which are a level 110 monster in 2~3 throw Kunais. Getting you MASSIVE exp that you aren't supposed to get at your level.

Magmarings are pretty much great exp up to level 70~75 where it finally slows downs. After that, you go to Amatsu and kill poisonous toads which will give you around 5~6k exp each. Even more with VIp and a battle manual.

To comment on auto-buff effects - Use the +7 zodiac hats if you want auto-casting endows, since they add more damage (endow effects weapon damage, but the zodiac hats' mild wind effects weapon and stat damage). They are of course considerably more expensive - as they should be, since they're good, while the auto-endow claws are garbage. I think the claws also eat elemental stones when used...

Endow (but not mild wind) is removed upon changing weapons; endow is canceled if you ever don't have a weapon equipped (which happens while switching weapons). You also can't endow your bare hands, as if you'd ever want to.

Nah, endow claws don't eat up stones. As my friend's monk has no reason to carry them and they did proc for him. It just happens so rarely.

And once more, thanks a lot =) I think i will give a ninja a shot tomorrow, and perhaps opt for a second VIP acc since it really isn't too expensive altogether. Also ty on the zodiac info, i'll definitely look into that as well~

edit: looked into the zodiac headgear... :p_omg:

Did they used to? I swear there was something that autocast endows and ate stones to do so. God help you if you had high aspd.
