From what I heard someone abused a bug way back when Lord Knight MVP was first released & achieved 2 Lord Knight Cards. He was perma-banned afterwards. Not sure if this information is correct or just a rumor.

Isn't the -50 defense from Tao Gunka Hard Defense? It doesn't tickle if it's that much.

So?
You need 600 "hard" defense to reach 50% damage reduction.
Unless you're referring to pre-renewal defense formula which, obviously, is not being used post renewal.

The same reason no one gives a rats ass about the -5 defense of porcellio card anymore, its not a trade off anymore, just a straight upgrade because 5 def is absolutely nothing.

Which is why I wouldn't be surprised if the tao gunka change listed above becomes true.

What Krispin says is pretty much true in Renewal. 50 Hard Def is hardly worth much in Renewal in the ways of damage reduction. If I had to choose between using a Glorious Suit and a Rune Plate for reducing damage, I'd go with the Glorious Suit's 8% Demi Reduction for WoE.

Although none of that crap matters when GoH is still going to 1 or 2-shot you regardless of Def/Reduction.
