Well, so I put a though in to see what gear would be best for a Warlock.

Options I have jotted down

Headgears and Staff Combinations
+12 KK Pom +12 GSOD > Best in my opnion.
+12 KK CoD +12 GSOD
+12 KK SC + +12 TSOD

Now Pom has a very good advantage for defence at +12 you get like 16% less damage? :o
Then for CoD, casting time reduces by quite a bit too.
SC and TSOD give you the option for having a shield.

I am looking at these from a PvP perspective only.

According to me in PvM, SC+TSOD should be a very good option if upgraded at a high level.

So in PvP which of these would be better?
Keeping in mind that one could switch to a shield if neccasary.

Now for the rest of the equips, +9 HPB seems the best? Considering you have 90+Int and Vit.
Maybe card it with a Raydric or a DR?

Armor wise, a D, robe with a Agav/GR card maybe?

I would like all your insights on these. Thank you.

1st one is definitely better for damage. (GSOD + Pom Hat).... Building a great Warlock is knowing how to balance your raw MATK% bonuses with MATK% bonuses towards demi-human (they are different).

TSoD MATK bonus is not that impressive to begin with because the +10 MATK you get per refine is added at the end of the formula after the matk% bonuses have already been calculated. Sure, you can use a shield, but if you are good at weapon switching, you would just settle with Combat Knife + Cranial shield.

The troublesome part of being a Warlock are the FIXED cast times not VARIABLE like what CoD or KK card gives. KK CoD won't do anything more than the Red Pom can other that after skill delay bonus at +9 which isn't really a big deal.

In terms of HPB, I'd say go with Raydric if you're gonna default it. Defaulting Deviling in PvP/WoE is suicide for a Warlock because they don't have a lot of HP to begin with. Deviling is more of a switch garment.

I personally use Glorious Suit with +3 INT for more HP then switch for Unfrozen Wind Armor. I never found any good use for Diab Robe really. It's too gimmicky with stats but doesn't really have a main use.

Yeah, that's about right for the Pom Hat combination.

When it comes to TSOD and SC combination I always just thought of it for PvM when they are +12 or so. Provides descent damage, and defence.
Well, anyways thats not one of my main concerns right now.

Fixed/Variable now yes, that is there. But how many of them are fixed? I am not sure about the number actually.

HPB, yeah I thought of DR always as a switch able garment because most people have converters/endows. DR uses are pretty limited right now.

Right now I am using a Glorious Suit as well, switching to an Unfrozen whenever required.
But maybe GR/Angeling Defense as switch able to be able to take the damage. And how on earth did you manage to get an Enchant for a Glorious Suit? :P
I lost hope in Enchanting Armors since I broke 10 Orleans when they used to cost 40m-50m each :pif:

^should answer your questions on fixed/variable cast times.

I personally use Asprika myself since getting ambushed by GXes isn't fun and I want about 1-2 second survival time so I can use Safety Wall on myself.

You can enchant Glorious Suits as well from the enchant lady in Prontera. I think it's categorized as "High Grade Armor"?

Hmmm... perhaps... but there are some wrong info here...

Yes, Pom Hat + GSoD is your best bet... damage wise... the other one next to it would be Pom Hat + Zakudam SoD.

TSoD MATK bonus is consider Weapon MATK and receives double bonus at the end formula... first bonus for being Level 4 Weapon and then it multiplies against the %MATK at the end of the formula... therefore is affected by %MATK.

For Backpack, I think Noxious would be better suited for WoE... since most of skills are ranged nowdays, Raydric will protect u only if enemy doesn't endow their attacks....

And yes, Diabolus Robe is quite useful... I would say one of the best garments u would find...

Kathryne Keyron Card
  • Each upgrade on the headgear reduces the variable cast time of skills by 1%.
  • If the headgear is upgraded to +9 or higher, increases magic damage by 2%.
Where does this after skill delay bonus come from?

The CoD has it. 5% less after skill delay at +9.

And all skills DO have a Variable Cast time in addition to a fixed cast time. So there is some gain I can see.
If not CoD
A +12 KK Pom would be very nice. :D
And any insights on a +12 Chibi Pope hat? Or what ever it is called. :P
+12% MATK ain't bad.

But without any reductions like red pom, you'll be a walking glass cannon that is not actually a cannon. :P
