Attack Power effects Spell Damage and your Staff's melee attack. And on the side note, don't max out int, keep it around 300 because it's not worth the points you're spending for it.

alright so when i take all my gear off its at 264 int so i shouldnt go over 300. Then after that what should i put my points in and does Topaz effect my spell dmg?

Topaz's effect your spell damage; however, Diamonds are way better. Check Lybis' Guide for Mages It will explain everything you need to know.

No, get your base int to 280 at least (minimum int requirement to hold ein stern - level 200 staff)

No just max int u will have enuff for a sub stat like, STR, CON, OR SEN (if you have max int you will still have alot of points which can be used)
and as bllackberry was saying u need 280 int for the lvl 200 staff.

Your main stat for attack power is int yes, then str and sen. Int does not increase magic skill damage anymore (other than the fact that it adds ap, and even though it is your min stat for attack power it's a waste to max it for a mage because it takes a huge amount of stat points that could be used elsewhere.
