With the pre-renewal server on the horizon, I think there will be many players from Ymir migrating to "Classic" server.

Thus, as Ymir has been hemorrhaging players what will happen next? Will Ymir remain a server with a more reduced player base or will it be merged to Valk or Ygg? Have the GMs also think the solution for this problem?

If the new server turns out to be a hit they could just merge it with Ygg or just close it down.

I imagine a lot of people wearing nostalgia goggles will indeed leave, but I imagine a lot will still stay, for gear/characters/friends and not wanting to start over again.

Issues with renewal makes people not want to play aren't getting resolved anytime soon.
People may return to try out ninja update. But I think Ymir's remaining players will be siphoned off by new server.

Ro Classic will probably attract veterans that have already quit. I highly doubt it will bring new blood. Also, bear in mind that veterans want Classic Ro for the WoE scene. I could see Ymir players log into Classic just to WoE once their chars are fully prepared.

I`am from Iris to Ymir and I stay in Ymir, I dont want to start all over again and sudunly get bored. I wish Ygg and Ymir combine together... so that Ymir saver can grow and get more ppl.

Well, the first thing that would happen for sure is that Ygg will go through with that merge thing (and my people will go totally ape-_-). Anyway, I kind of doubt that this pre-renewal server will be THAT successful. Nobody's going to quit his or her server for this, most likely.

A mmo I used to play did this with like one months notice and then deleted all accounts that didn't verify ownership before the merge.

If the new server succeeds this will most likely happen more so if it were to bring in more money than renewal but I doubt that will happen.

i've been in ymir bf4 merge Iris & i will stay till the end just let us know if a merge its coming by mail to keep my chars untouch please ^^ & with the names i want

Players will slowly leave Ymir passing their gear to friends until there's 1 player left with 500 god items.

Population on Ymir is dropping a lot since the announcement of the new server. Especially if you are located at a non-US-timezone it is getting very hard to fine someone to party with (i.e. TI party). I remember yesterday evening (my time) there were about 200ppl on ymir, 2 weeks before it was around 400. The Merch got kicked because of maintenance but 200ppl was the lowest population I have seen on the server ever. Diablo3 and new server didn't help to solve the problem with low ymir population. I guess they have to do something like a merger sooner or later. Otherwise ymir will just die?

The last thing we need is a further influx of God Items and MVP Cards (on both Valk and Ymir) and Ymir doesn't want all the botted goods on Valk.

=) i'm on Ymir and gerneally those in my guild and alliance will be poking around in the pre-renewal but our home is still Ymir =D we will just have two guilds rofl? I'll never leave Ymir tho ~

Mostly I remember why I had stopped playing for awhile before Renewal ever hit.....I think Moonie is right - ppl will get their nostalgia fix, and in the end nothing will be affected much. Besides if ppl like it there , good for them plenty of places to go around !

My Two Orginal Playas are On Ymir !!! I could never leave Sugar Peanut and Mew behind !!! But if we get merged one day with Valk ..... i dont think i could stomach playing

I play on Ymir, and can vouge that the population is not as high as it could be. I would vote to have Ymir and Ygg merged into one. I know there is a lot of biased thoughts on this though. Between god items, the difference that time has set between each servers starting date, and an unbalanced WoE. One guild on Ygg could argue that another guild on Ymir has an unfair advantage because they have been around longer, and has had more time to farm god items. So what the GMs will do to make everyone happy is beyond my imagionation. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out though.
