We've all seen how annoying portal casting is in WoE 1.0 and why it makes portal defending so difficult in Renewal. I'm proposing that when you touch portals (making it global for easier implementation) to add a buff to all characters that enter them to disable the use of certain skills for 5 seconds.

I'm not 100% sure where in the coding to put this, as portal casting takes advantage of the latency and post-warp immunity given, but would need to be applied before the 'move-to' command.

The skills I see as a concern with this are:

• Mandragora Howling
• Stasis
• Cursed Circle
• Suicidal Destruction
• Urgent Recall

What I'd like to see now is the community discuss this, how they think counter-measures can be implemented, as well as other skills that should be added to this list. And ultimately, make the game more balanced and fun in these situations.

Unfortunately I think this will have to be a kRO issue, I know myself and my team probably can't fix this like we did with the spam issue, etc.

Ultimate solution would just be to make no skill self-targeted. If you want to cast Howling, you need to still click somewhere on the screen to use it.

Add Backslide and Hide to the list. GX/Chaser can portal cast those, despite there being CP in some cases.

But yes, the main problem behind portal casting is a result of skills that don't require manual targeting.
