Hi!! :p_laugh: :p_idea:

How should a Newbie, with no gears, just started, start?

- What class? Easy to lvl up, making money, etc.?

- What should I be thinking? Making money or trying to get to 99, and then making money?

Are there more thinks that I should be thinking of?

Thanks inforward :D

(Sorry for my bad English grammer)

Money (zeny) is definitely a big part of the game. I would probably recommend making a thief or swordsman class as your first character. Thieves get steal and rogues even have auto-steal for extra loots to sell for zeny.

Regarding getting to 99 as fast as possible or trying to make as much money as possible, the two are kind of linked. You get better loots at 99 or higher levels, so leveling fast will also make you richer faster.

Remember to check out the eden group quests and leveling as soon as possible. You will get some gears, leveling quests, and a lot of help there. --> http://irowiki.org/wiki/Eden_Group

IROwiki is a good site in general to help get you started too.

Yeah level first, then worry about zenny since your zenny making opportunities open up at higher levels. The absolute best zenny making opportunities is selling WPE, playing the market (buying low and selling high), going to a TI dungeon and greeding the -_- out of drops and NPCing them in that order.

Oki, thanks for the info,
So I should Focus on the lvling then.

- if I make a Swordie, which class should I take, and what kind of builds should I take?

And a random question: Is there gonna be a new server? in IRO?

The new server is a pre-renewal server. The biggest thing this server won't have as far as content goes is third classes. It will also carry a level playing field given that all the players will be starting fresh and classes were far more balanced before third classes were released. It should also be noted that leveling is much, much, MUCH more slow on the pre-renewal server.

Swordie is a solid starting class and it's hard to go wrong with a swordsman class. Given your gear won't be the best, Crusaders tend to be a good tanking class with their high HP and defensive skills, and Knights tend to be well rounded offensive classes. Both have much appreciated third jobs as rune knight and royal guard and you'd be better off discussing their pros and cons in the swordsman section. And RKs ride around on a goofy looking dragon while RGs ride around on a fluffy gryphon. Something to keep in mind.

Oh, if you go crusader you must have Endure to complete the job change, I don't think it's possible without it.

I would not recommend a new player start on the upcoming pre-renewal server. Pre-renewal was much less newbie-friendly than renewal is.

You mean - Royal Guards have to ride around on an ugly gryphon with stunted wings that can't actually fly over anything, while Rune Knights get to ride a fire breathing dragon (albeit a wing-less one)?

Endure is a prereq for Peco Riding (you don't get to ride anything cool until third job) for both knight and crusader, so you need endure on any swordie.
Improved HP recovery 10, Bash 10, magnum 1, Provoke 5 endure 1 for all swordie classes.
1 and 2 hand mastery 1 for vit/spear knights,
1hand lvl 1, 2hand lvl 10 for agi/sword knights.
Not sure what, if any, masteries you need for sader.
Remaining skill points go to provoke and endure.

magnum break at 1? That's one of the most used skills until you get to third class.

You're -_-ting me.... I thought that was useless (except for obscure applications, hence level 1). Certainly knights have much better AoE skills - are saders reduced to using magnum break to level nowadays? That's crazy...

Bowling Bash I think you get at job level 35 (it takes a lot of prerequisites), and you max holy cross at job level 27, and is most effective against undead, so before you get either of those magnum break is very solid and takes relatively small amount of SP. Spamming it is impractical as a newbie, but it'll def help you get out of tight situations until you can get a more effective AoE. And honestly leveling by spamming an AoE isn't possible as a newbie until you get a good supply of sp recovery items.

Also, you need MB 3 to get bowling bash anyways, thought a knight will have more options as a spear build.

Magnum break is a good skill for leveling a swordsman before turning knight / crusader. SP cost is high for a low sp pool yes, but there are ways around it like +9 carat FEW, magnificat or soul exhale slave dual clienting, or blowing strawberries or light blue pots (all the "pros" say they solo this way at higher levels anyway). This makes mobbing / aoe / svd build actually viable even for new swordsman characters.

Most people without those resources will most likely go with a single target AGI leveling build. Two-hand quicken with swords for knights and spear quicken with spears for crusader.

I even did a dex / vit arrow shower build for my archer / bard recently using the same ideas (only used magnificat slaving, wish I had a +9 carat FEW...).

Also for a spear player you do NOT need 1 hand or 2 hand mastery. So for job 50 I went. Hp recovery 10, Bash 10, Provoke 10, Mag break 9, Endure 10

You need it if you want bowling bash though (and bowling bash is in many ways a better AoE). lvl 1 2hand mast (and hence level 1 1hand mast as prereq) for 2hq, which you need for BB.
