After reading a little about it I'm guessing it only resets a few stat points and not all of them? How is it determined which stat points are removed?

There's a little button you find in every reset stone. Press it, and you find the world back 10 years ago. Seriously.

Stupid jokes aside, it depends what your base level is, the higher it is, the more reset stones you use to reset your stats/skills. Once you reset, everything goes back to 1,1,1,1,1,1 and you get all your points back.

There's an NPC in Payon who will tell you more. He's hidden behind a tree near the Kafra/Eden area in southern Payon, so rotate your camera a little.

It Fully resets your stats, but it costs more reset stones based on your level

Level 1~40: 1 Reset Stone
Level 41~70: 2 Reset Stones
Level 71~90: 3 Reset Stones
Level 91~110: 4 Reset Stones
Level 111~125: 5 Reset Stones
Level 126~140: 6 Reset Stones
Level 141~150: 7 Reset Stones

Reset stones can also be used for temporary gramps VIP Features like taking both monster hunts at once and relocating your EXP (Without VIP EXP Bonus)
Allows Access to instance dungeons like Overlook Dungeon and future ones that may use it as well.

Wait it says on the wiki VIP don't need reset stones to job change, is that still true?

This only applies for VIP Accounts, Plushy.

Job changes for third classes only need reset stones.

Erm, let me clarify: If you are VIP you do not need reset stones for 3rd class job change quests.

If you are non-VIP you need one reset stone per 3rd job change quest. Clear enough?
