Money is easier to come by at higher level, so leveling = earning money.
As for stats, go for max agi and dex for hunter. Once you rebirth you have to make a decision on wether you want focus on agi/luk and go for the autowarg build or the arrowstorm build with focus on vit and int. Dex is vital for both builds so just keep adding it and figure out what build you want along the way.
Lastly there is skill and stat resets.

Go AGI/Dex or AGI/LUK with a bit of DEX for a falcon build for both Hunter and Sniper. Use the free reset once you've got enough job points to get Camo 5 and AS 10, then you get the choice between a pure AS build or a AS Build that also has good ASPD.

The Pure AS build is only good if you plan on leveling on Ranger safe maps (No insects, Boss protocol monster or demons) or with an AB slave to do all of your tanking. With enough damage with a White Wing set, you can pretty much run around in Juperos like a god until you are in range with Abyss Lake, which then will take you to 135 if you stick it out. INT/DEX pure builds will allow you to survive in any of those maps for as long as you have food/arrows/whatever. Being able to regen while in Camo is very, very helpful.

Ranger Safe TI's will be your best friend. (The current mid-range Gramps TI for example is excellent as its bloody crowded with things to kill that just can't see you.)

Do yourself a favor, get a Hunter Bow (+5 at least, 7 would be nice) and grab Hunter Arrows/Quivers, it works the same as the Elven Bow. Makes leveling that much easier until you can afford/farm an Elven Bow.
