You cannot have the client for any other national RO or illegal private server open at the same time as the iRO client.
Also, if you install multiple clients to the same location, you'll have issues like that.

Did you have another RO client running or installed to the same location at the time?

2) If that hasn't fixed it, open IE, and see if you can get to iro.ragnarokonline.com. If you can't, fix your IE settings until you can. It has to work using IE, even if you use another browser, because the patcher makes calls to IE (apparently, most game patchers do this, even Blizzard's SCII patcher - which is even more unreliable and balky than the iRO patcher)
3) Check settings on any firewall software (windows firewall as well as third party products like zonealarm) to make sure that they are not blocking the patcher.
4) Throw your arms up in despair and assume that patching the iRO client with the kRO/pserver client up borked your install, and uninstall RO and reinstall it. (Don't need to redownload, assuming you still have the installer)

1) Try a few more times. Like, start it, wait 30 seconds, if it does nothing, close it and try again. Do this 4 or 5 times. This happens randomly sometimes.
Done this a Few times nothing yet, going to keep trying.

iro.ragnarokonline.com
Works

Ive Disabled all firewalls and still nothing
Ive had this for about 2 weeks now, i reinstall re download difrent links ect. why cant they just make a icon thay bypasses the Patch client?4) Throw your arms up in despair and assume that patching the iRO client with the kRO/pserver client up borked your install, and uninstall RO and reinstall it. Because then as soon as you entered the game you'd error out and crash because your client would be missing vital patches.
Every time a new item is added, the client needs to get updated for it; it will crash if you see an item that is not in the client.
Are you on vista/7? If so, make sure the patcher is set to always run as admin.

Its always on run as Admin, and ive deleted and re downloaded so many new RO's, the first one i did when it got about halfway patching a small window would popup saying
No Imagefile!!!
Im going to download the one of iROwiki see if it helps at all

Try installing on another partition if you have one available, otherwise, trying running a registry cleaner like Ccleaner after uninstalling from Add/Remove.
While usually registry cleaners are complete crap, this COULD actually help, make sure you have ALL versions of RO gone (including iRO) and run it.
I would also look at the output for anything related to RO, manually go into the registry via regedit, and delete the whole folder if appropriate. Somewhere in there, theres a setting thats messing with the client.

Indeed, people view them as a cure-all but for all the wrong reasons. However, since this is persisting across various reinstalls, it makes a bit of sense in this case.

I'd still try it though. I don't know if kRO does things differently
