The 98-99 crawl will kill people's enthusiasm. No Guild Dungeons, no LoD. Good luck Classic players. Go to the same map for hours on end to get 1% and hope like hell you don't die.

I think everyone that used to play Ragnarok still remember how hard is to get the lvl 99. At least i remember. If people wanted to level fast they would be playing on the renewal servers i think. And we will have no woes or transclass for sometime, so why the hurry?

we were talking about how we already have people from the classic server asking for x2exp on classic server only cause and i quote:
"been playing on classic since the launch, and still not made it to 99"

Dear hypocrite, please read the post you were responding to. They were complaining for not achieving second job, which is different from trans.

just wanted to say that this point is invalid, because i'm ALWAYS around. and if you don't want either my name or 42 Below Vodka's name on your weapon, then make your own. plus i think you only need to make...80 or so weapons to get ranked. it's not that hard. you could even +10 a level 3 weapon and get ranked instantly. voila!

I take it you mean 24hrs online and never retire like those more then 5 blacksmith forgers ranked? I feel its such a joke.. VERY soon all top forgers are inactive for a few weeks or more then half a month cos RO is gettin more.. nvm.. Like I said a few/many times, the reason to clear all ranks due to inactive people thats all. I'm lazy to use 'swear' words and other words here cos its rather pointless talking to thick skull head of yours. I know you might feel the same but back at you. CeruleanGamer failed to answer my question, can you answer them? In my previous post on this thread which I 'bold' asking CeruleanGamer some questions.

Edit : Sure I can make 80 weapons or so, no problemo but with inactive forgers, its a problemo. Unless its Valkyrie server which one of them was saying 20k over points? If they are active people, its a good challenge. If they are not active its a boring challenge. /e10

Edit : beaupoem, whats your point of staying in a top rank forger? I would like you to share, what's your reason for planning to reset Blacksmith rank? If your looking for my reason? Its on this post edit. Pls don't tell me the same reason as what I saw in this topic/post before about they work so hard dot dot dot.. Like what CeruleanGamer said before.

Forging once with bulk of mats is better than u forge everyday with few materials, it saves my time too, so If u want to make it to the top ask ur guildies help u supply mats and go forging 24 hours.

mm, yup I know but did you see the inactive forgers yggdrasil have for weeks which I highlighted? Of cos I know you cant possibly login everyday, dot dot dot dot. Geez.

Edit : At least I didn't even pinpoint out the 1 week person O_O just those at exceeded 20 weeks or so. I'm just asking for a reset 'nicely' and these people just shoot whatever their reason is telling me 'how hard that person worked' to get in the top 10. For the last time this reset is to clean out those inactive people. That's all, I'm saying and asking for. Pls do not think I'm making such a big deals over it. If you check my very first post about resetting the ranks. I'm spouting 'nonsense' here cause people fail to know the reason why am I asking for a reset.

AlvinKY: I honestly don't understand your argument. If your concern is making the top ten forgers, and your competition is 5 inactive forgers, and yet you are still failing to make the top ten, it might be time to rethink your strategy, not screw over everyone else.

i guess i'll have to spell it out for you since you can't figure it out yourself. my reason for making the blacksmith ranks is very simple - recognition. it's the same exact reason every blacksmith wants to be ranked for. since my name is on the list, people request weapons to be made all the time or come up and chat to see what gears i use, etc. oh, did i mention it was somewhat profitable as well? a ranked weapon is more sought after than a non-ranked weapon, and people are more likely to buy your weapons as well if you make a LOT of them and supply for the demand. (making more weapons = higher rank, no?)

getting back to the topic of resetting blacksmith ranks, i understand you want to clear the "inactive" forgers from the list. how do you know that Hephaestus doesn't have another account that he's actively leveling or that he just never goes to prontera? i would sure want to see my name still in the #3 spot even if i decide to take a break from my main account and purely level my alt accounts. how would you feel if you were inducted into a hall of fame for some sport, and then they kick you out just because you stop playing that sport?

and you want a challenge? make 447 level 3 weapons first, then come talk to me about a challenge. starting over fresh would actually NOT be a challenge because there aren't enough active forgers on ygg. you could seriously make 1 weapon and be ranked. where's the challenge in that?

I think the main reason is that alchemist rankings are actually used (ranked slims, etc) for mainly WoE and of course to a lesser extent, PvP and PvM. There are guild potters and the competition for having a ranked potter is high. Which is why I doubt anyone would make a ranked potter just for themselves as it usually ends up being a guild/party effort.

Ranked smithing on the other hand is not in demand (not saying nil but definitely far less compared to alchemist ranking). Yes there is a bonus to elemental weapons but in all honesty, who is going to use an elemental weapon forged by a smith when there are much better weapons out there. Forged weapons have a very niche place (usually lower level character leveling) where as naght sieger swords, for example, will see much more and prolonged use.

In essence, ranked alchemist is very important to WoE and pretty much every other aspect of RO and is reset to give other guilds a fighting chance. Blacksmith ranking... not as important, possibly just e-peen comparisons and has absolutely no effect in the long run.

Item description for most items are incorrect. They are still trying to fix that but it's low down the priority list.

In the meantime, there are pre-renewal item databases online that you could look into for future reference.

Hmm, I hope "repurposing" and tweaking Quen doesn't take as long as the Summoner is.

Ymir sometimes is barely topping 200 online (which means probably less than 50% at the given time is actually active)........getting pretty sad, here. Hopefully stuff is added / SOMETHING is done to generate interest in the Renewal servers again, or this is looking grim.

Theres not much difference between 97 and 99 anyway. when trans got introduced new maps came along that made reaching 99 much easier. Ditto on trans, 96/97 is close enough to be effective endgame. it wont make a difference in the outcome of a MVP fight or anything.

resettting blacksmith ranks is a bad idea, it destroys ALL the current weapons in circulation for that forger (this is bad for everyone *except* the forger).

Its not like potions which are consumed and gone normally days or weeks later. Getting ranked isnt particularly hard and honestly if i was going to buy a ranked weapon I want to buy one from a creator who *ISNT* striving for the bare minimum to make a few sales and will be off the ranked list a month later.
