I've been in a lot of really fun turn in parties, and met some nice people, while gaining pretty nice chunks of exp.
I don't understand why some people hate him so much.
Different strokes for different folks I guess.
I'd rather not get in to a debate about it.
Eden gears did kinda kill the low end market for stuff like shoes [1] etc.
But let's face it those were mostly botted anyway.

Gramps is one of the best things in renewal.

I agreed. He helped me gained many levels. If you are an ex-ro players and are reading this I suggest that you try talking to Gramps in Eden.

LIkely I wouldn't have opened up 150 at first, would have condensed all the monsters down to 100~130 rather than 100~160. This would have provided more content density and wouldn't have felt so empty or choiceless for leveling spots. I do understand the leveling penalty stuff, because with buffs a lowbie would rocket up levels much faster than designed if the monsters were exp scaled like before. Level 140 monsters would be worth like 200k exp, and to go from 149~150 would require like 30 billion exp or something crazy. Instead they kept exp values needed low, but put in a dynamic that roughly the same number of kills is needed but without the crazy level speed up that would happen with lower characters.
Renewal has some amazing things, but unfortunately many of you don't really focus on those. Most are system updates that are really nice. I love the costume system, but I don't feel it is done yet, we need the "wings" type stuff to be costume based not actually part of your build gear. I love the class looks and the gear that focuses on character builds, unfortunately all classes aren't represented yet only 5/13 are. Defense and Mdef don't feel like balanced numbers anymore, with all the PVP elements either ignoring it or being so huge that they are not a factor. Class differences are there, but not to the extent it was before which from our standpoint is bad because less desire to make more classes which keeps you entertained longer. And I guess the formullas for damage, aspd and matk don't feel natural anylonger, cards don't factor in really, only the weapon refine level has a big impact on performance. The game is definitely more skill based rather than click and hold though, I do like the skill timing system as it could add an element of diversity to combat. EG instead of double strafe spam, it would be a few skills linked between double strafes. Requiring a bit more work from the player but gives better results.

Eden = The easiest way to earn free gears that will still be useful until level 120+ a 3rd class.

Either way, it's a great thing to have now, since anyone returning needs a fast way to lvl, just to be relevent.

probably brought me back to RO. Granted after then reaching the 100,etc I stall out (again due to solo'ing, not WOE or MVPing, etc)
but those parts of the system really made it enjoyable for me (as a returning-to-see-what's-changed player).
I can see how it killed the smithing, etc market however. Not long before I left RO I had a smith myself and made..."tada" a knife.
But haven't planned on doing any more with that char..

eden was a bad thing... and gramps was never supposed to be permanent... while leveling can be a pain if they had just fixed the exp rates for higher levels it wouldnt be as bad... really eden gears are bad for the economy and turn in are bad for gameplay experience... its forced grinding but this time with a party...
Gramps wisdom rains paid his dues to Gameplanet's Society. Young orbit's decree ought to acknowledge a Protector who onced theme, dues unpaid as well.
Planet Ragnarok doesn't evolve around High Definition/Lvls, when undevelop understanding/lvl completions still nominates (Land, Rank, Awards, Rewards, Richest, PVP, MVP, WOE, Guild VS Guild, Castles), is Planet Ragnarok, when fragment are beginning elements, (and not misplacing), endless regards remains not Milestoned.
The Merchant Guild Elites determines if Eden Gears is perfection, not visiting understanding input subtracting Planet Ragnarok from perfection.

I don't get why there is so much hate on him, it's almost the same stupid thing you would do if you went somewhere else and leveled. Even after you finish the turn in you can kill off all the mobs in there. All the groups I ever got were like that anyway.
Who knows ...........
