Good evening! solr here,

I've been able to learn a lot about the game and get around pretty well thanks to the stickies on these forums. A few questions though:

Is it possible to pk in a field? In the fields immediately West and South of Pontera, a red named hostile that looks like a ghostly character one-shots me. If it's not a character, what is it?

I've found info on what stats do and a few builds on these forums and an RO Wiki, but I haven't found any combat guides with information on kiting or fighting off more than one monster at once. Are there any recent guides with this info?

Thanks!

No, there is no PK on iRO outside of the PVP rooms (accessible from the inn in most towns) and the WoE fortresses during WoE hours.

The monster you were killed by was one of the Biolabs monsters (biolabs has monsters that look like ghosts of player classes, and hit really really hard), which had been summoned there by a player using a Dead Branch item.

The field south of prontera is traditionally used for breaking DBs (since the map is conveniently located, yet completely useless). West pront is often DB'ed by self-rightious nitwits trying to kill bots.
