Hi,

I downloaded the client, installed the game and tried to play it. However, the client updater kept saying update failed...any thoughts?

Might be a firewall problem? Peerblock maybe?

Firewall is not the cause. It just won't download and keeps saying it failed.

It happend to me, it was like start updating, reach a random % and stops, then a sign that says "Update Failed".

My solution: "keep refreshing the update", for example, for a 20mb update, if it stops at 50%, at least 4 o 5 mb would be a file that already updated, so when u refresh u ll update 15mb.

Or try asking Alteris or othem GM by PM if had no solution.

PD: Main lenguage = Spanish, so sorry if what i wrote doenst make sense in some parts :S.

I had the same problem, i solved it by deleting the MaestiaPatch.txt inside the Maestia main folder and trying to update again.

Maybe you should try that (make a backup first before deleting it, just in case).

Thanks for suggesting this. Hopefully this will solve the issues of any other users that may be experiencing this.

I have still update issue; update failed "download failed"

MaestiaPatch.txt deleted many times;
i have no FIREWALL

I am having the same issue. I open Maestia and it downloads for about 3 seconds then I get a pop up saying "MasetiaUpdater: Download Failed" I've tried everything. There is no "MaestiaPatch.txt" in the folder. There is only a "MaestiaPatch.log" Tried deleting that and starting over, still not working. Please fix this! I really want to try this game out. It's frustrating.
