In an attempt to get the cleric forum rolling: what is your favorite thing, or what made you decide to play, the cleric class?

Only being level 20, my favorite thing about clerics in this game so far is our dots. Leveling as a dark priest, I love the damage i can put out while being so mobile, and not having to stand still for all of my damage. We seem to have pretty solid kiting abilities, resulting in very little downtime.

Lava explosion. Killing an entire group of mobs with one skill is pretty satisfying. Especially since you can cast it, run away, and laugh as they die while chasing you.

I am definitely looking forward to Lava explosion. At my lowly level its pretty much one mob at a time, so can't wait to start getting some sick AoE action going on.

dunno about full int build, but only 1 lava explosion didnt kill mobs. needs a second or third hit and good tanking/healing.

Not as easy as it sound.

It can kill @ level poison mobs with a 3-1-1 int build, 494 magic dmg, and 3 points duration increase. Further points in duration increase would allow for the same result with a weaker staff.

just hit 39 so im closing in lava explosion, primarily going 4-1 int/wis, so im curios to see how hard a punch it'll be packing.

I build my cleric strictly as a healer so I could use him for a merc and farm purple/orange gear on my warrior and ranger. So I guess what I like best is the heals. So I like the fact that I use very little mana so I can heal a lot.

He is totally squishy and could not kill a fly without help. And if you look at him too hard he will simply fall dead. However he will totally piss off your healer in pvp. With sleep, slow, god's shield, mana burn and fear, he may not be able to kill someone but their healer will not heal them and that makes up for my weakness in PVP. My heals are maxed for my level so I can keep my people alive while denying their healer the ability to heal.
