Just wondering where I can find a good guide for Classic for an MVP/PvP alchemist? I honestly don't know too much about the class, but I've seen some trans videos of biochemists acid bombing things to hell and back. Is Acid Terror an effective tool as well for MVPing and PvPing pre-trans? Also, I'm assuming this will be in a guide if anyone has a link to one, but if I was interested in doing a build revolving around acid terror, is str my primary stat (since I noticed the formula seems to run purely off atk?) And what should my secondary stat be then? Vit? Do I need any in dex? or int?

Finally, how hard/easy is it to level to an alchy? I'm talking with some Kafra gear. I've seen merchs do a hell of a job rounding up wolves and carting them. Considering the amount of exp they give in Classic I imagine it goes quick.

Sorry for all the questions, any advice appreciated :D

Acid Terror isn't that great for MvPing. A lot more things hit harder and for a lot less.

You can try to PvP with an Alchemist, but it probably won't work well.

Boo, and here I was hoping I could have some fun. Well, in that case, if I wanted to at least level one to make it to 99 in prep for Trans, what's the best build for easy leveling?

Easy leveling and alchemist do not go together. I recommended going for a battle alchy, High AGI,STR, and moderate DEX and VIT. Then find a battlesmith to level with.

Ah that sucks. A guildie of mine mentioned it's not worth making one now either way till homonculus are in on classic (I always thought that they came with the class originally, I guess not). Does he have a point? Will homonculi make it any easier to level?

I like the fact there isnt a homoculus system yet. Shows who the real alchemists are :)

You mean the ones that use a cart revolution to 99?

Shows who the real generic-character-with-a-mobbing-skill-to-level are. Just teasing ;p. Thats the only way to level effectively atm.

Disagree.

Str/Vit/Dex with more int than most melees, mob aggressively and use cart revo for main attack. That's how I 99'ed Dr. Azzy back in the day. You want to have enough int that you never run out of SP spamming revo. Use arrow quivers to keep your cart weight up if you're leveling in the middle of nowhere and need to store pots in cart. Use a 3x carded gladius or saber as weapon, or an appropriate rental.

Awesome, thank you (and everyone else) for the insight. Can you be any more specific with the stats? Which should I pump first to what number? About how much int do you recommend so that I never run out?

15~25 INT is enough if you are planning to use Rental Combat Knife =x

110 or 120 str with str gear and uproar.

60 total dex

However much int you need to not run out of SP while cart revo mobbing (and no more than that).

Rest in vit.

Order is a tricky thing, something I have trouble describing because I always just knew when to get what back on pre-renewal, and it was hard to describe.

Keep the stats so you have enough dex to hit, the minimum vit you're willing to live with (depends on budget and playstyle and gear), and lots of str. Start getting int around the time you're changing to alchemist so you can start mobbing aggressively. When total str is finally 10 away from final value (10 points away from final base value, or less than 10 points away if you're missing or can't yet wear part of your final gear), finish off dex (if it's not finished already) and int, then finish str, then finally end it on vit.

15~25 INT is enough if you are planning to use Rental Combat Knife =x

I don't know what int to recommend taking into account rental gears - they didn't have them back when I played pre-renewal, and so I don't know how they work in practice.

I had on the order of 50 int I think. Maybe 48, maybe 54 - something like that, much higher than most people get. Rental gears might of course allow that to be considerably lower, leaving more points for str or even vit

So just to double check, both element and cards affect cart revo right? Assuming I have the right gears, would it be realistic to level at HO? (with a properly carded weapon and obviously with cranial and alice doll (I'd say immune too but can't afford it, just an orc baby for now lol) just want to make sure what kind of grind I'm in for.

Also, as far as carded weapons go, what kind should I be using? It looks like Blade [4] would have the highest attack and still allow me to use a shield (until we can socket enchant orcish axe) but idk what the cart revo forumala is like and if something like a saber [3] would be better?

Unless shields are dumb to use all together and elemental 2h axes are the way to go?

Also, worth it to get any agi? according to iro wiki, the cast delay of cart revo is affected by aspd?
