Why does the "Mage Training Quest" send you to places with aggro monsters that kill you in a half of a second? I was just at a place south of where a big group of players were investigation one of the spots by something that looked like the sand creature from Star Wars Episode VI and suddenly a monster spawned on me and killed me in less then a second.

Sounds like you were the vitim of a dead branch monster i'm afraid.
Generally you don't get sent to areas that are dangerous. The job change quests are generally quite safe, although sometimes lack of concentration may get you killed...

Was it a frilldora? They are aggro, and may be able to one-shot a very low level mage.
