I was looking for a new mmo and saw someone mentioning this game going in open beta, so I decided to try it out.

Could anybody give me some basic info about it, because I couldn't find much on other sites.

Stuff like leveling (grind based/dungeon dependent), server population, class balance and end game features. Hope its not too much to ask.

Welcome. I just recently found Maestia myself and am still learning the game. There's a lot to do with lots of quests, a good storyline. It also addresses the different types of play styles. I'm enjoying it a lot. I hope you will too. :)

Its similar to many other MMOs.
  • Questing is the key way to level up, so if you dont like that... it may be difficult.
  • There are dungeons available to players starting at level 10, and a harder availability at level 19 (and continues 20/29 for the next dungeon/expert, 30/39 for the one after that, etc).
  • Gear is easy to obtain, and while leveling, basic quest gear is more than adequate (in my opinion, at least).
  • The social aspect is alright - almost always people having conversations.
  • The unique quest ability called "praying" allows players to obtain and complete certain quests (at their designated levels) anywhere in the open world.
  • Each of the classes has two specializations that you can choose to be: Mage (Fire/Ice) Warrior (Tank/DPS) Ranger (Archer/Assassin) Cleric (Heals/DPS). There is a good balance between all the classes right now (or so it seems), and some classes may be more difficult to play depending on your interest and talent choices.
  • You can hire Mercenaries to help you on your quest
  • There are massive PvP battles (RvRs) that give a lot of experience and Divinity Points (DP) if you participate.
  • DP is used to buy potions, charge your maestones (used to help buff your character) and hire mercenaries.
  • End game is a little rough right now - Temple Knights overgear the Superion Guardians. The endgame map is Lipido Night, and bosses spawn for players to kill, dropping ancient/legendary/best in slot loot for players. Lipido night is also a PvP map, where player kills are constant - Partying in this is a good idea.
Theres a lot mroe information, but I think this covers some of the basics. :)
