Maybe I'm just doing something wrong, but this game is simply too hard for me. I have a level 18 Warrior and a level 18 Cleric and I just don't feel like playing anymore.

The monsters hit me way too hard. Having to 'pray' after every battle is not fun, it's slow and frustrating. I know I should be using a Mercenary and at first, I liked the Mercenary system, but when I discovered I couldn't determine what skills the Merc used, it just became another source of frustration.

My Healer Merc burns through all her mana casting damage spells, when all I want her to do is cast healing spells and help out with a few normal attacks. So I end up with just as much downtime using a merc as I do without one.

The first few levels of the game were fun, but from about level 12 the monster difficulty ramped up and the fun factor really went down :(

Well some lvls are kinda hard when solo .. still why not asking help in guild or so? U will lvl up in no time.

~ The thing I dont really like is .. all skills eats the MP so fast ... doesnt matter what lvl are u or how much MP u have .. the MP is always a problem

I'm playing my cleric right now and am about your level. Some mobs are harder than others and I've found if I get a few more levels I can easily defeat them. As for the mp thing, I keep enough potions in my inventory and have it to auto dispense and also have the slider adjusted so that I never run out of mana. Have the best gear for your level and enchant it if possible. I'm really new myself, so I don't have all the answers. I hope you'll stick with it. Maestia is really a good game and most of the community is nice. You're kind of getting in at the beginning as it just went live a few days ago. I think it's just going to get better. :)

iHealthy merc tip: If you have a cleric merc, just push the follow button under its hp bar and it will just heal you.
And remember to ask for parties, don't take your Maestia experience solo.

Remember, you can also buy potions with Divinity Points. Also try to join RvR's. Even if you are in the losing team, you still get a good amount of EXP.

I'm level 59 and I'm still using Novice MP potions that cost 10 gold each and heal 200 mana over time and I never have to even look at how much mana I have even though I spam skills constantly.

I don't think this game is hard (but I feel it does anyway)
What seemed wrong amongst players is that they try to play it solo..
Psychologically, most players think having a party is just a hassle (i.e: party mates have a different mob location for quest)

Yes indeed, this game is difficult for soloers (like me, but I tried my way finding a party, and no one seemed interested most of the time)
I spend most of my ingame gold just for buying out HP pots, and the fact that every monster I fight, requires me 1 HP pot (when rushing, though I can play that just by praying)
As long as most players have this feeling of greed, not wanting a party, not much people would find playing Maestia too lovely (like we did last CBT.... where is Galinka now? :p_sad: )

Sorry the game isnt like WoW, where everything is handed to you now...

But.
I've now leveled every class up to at least 15...
The cleric was the hardest, but thats because Im going heals, not DPS.
the mage and ranger were the easiest... Heck, my mage maybe takes one hit while fighting an enemy because I use the CDs available.

I do agree with the suggestion to play in the RvR matches - Its about 25% EXP everytime you win the match.
Also, grouping with other players can be beneficial.
Make sure you have auto-pots on - They'll periodically heal you once your health/mana gets to a certain percentage (that you can adjust).
Doing dungeons with a group is also a good way to get XP, and because you have a tank and heals with you, you dont take damage - You just gotta make sure to keep your mana up while in the group (again, auto pots are great).

You can also give your merc pots to use - And they regain their hp/mp when you use your recovery prayer.
Unfortunately, the Mercenary AI is faulty, but.. they do help.

Its a shame you dont find the game enjoyable because its "too hard".
I was actually hoping this was a troll thread

Sorry if I sounded like a troll, I was just frustrated (let that be a lesson to everyone, don't post on forums when you've just died and you're mad about it).

Anyway, I'm not ready to give up just yet.

As for Chigikogou's tip:"If you have a cleric merc, just push the follow button under its hp bar and it will just heal you." You sir are my saviour! Thankyou so much for this tip, that's exactly what I wanted.

Geez, I hope we get a Wiki soon, cause this sort of information is desperately needed. Thanks again to everybody.

Yeah i always thought of that myself really annoying when running away from people or monster. Oh and how far do u actually have to run to take off a targeted player? Its annoying cuz some skills requires no battle but when someone targets you the skill cant be cast /sob
