Not too much to say, clicking to move just feels fairly unresponsive, especially when i want to walk in the opposite direction my character is walking in.

I have great internet, is there anything i should know, any fixes?

Is this latency a geographical issue, or a universal thing?

With latency it can somewhat difficult to tell. Although out of curiousity, what operating system are you using? I don't recall if it was Vista or 7, but one of them added a new piece to the TCP/IP stack that is notorious for causing latency issues in online games.

Windows 7 64 bit, if that helps. I'll google around.

Here are the steps I was thinking of:

I'm also an Australian player. Yes, Im also on very fast internet with a beast computer and RO lags.

Want to fix it?
www.lowerping.com

Its a damn shame you have to pay an extra $7 a month to play this game.
Or you can use the 30-minute free trials indefinitely.

Post a tracert following the instructions in the FAQ under tracert. That way we can see whether the lag is coming from a server between you and RO - this is the cause of most lag.

Lowerping is often just a bandaid solution for a real carrier capacity or routing problems that should really be resolved.

Test run over 1000 ICMP pings at 1 per second.
Identical packetloss is seen to all zone servers including login, character select & the warp portal main site 24x7 over the past week or two.
Individual tests have also been run from two separate ISP's with differing upstream providers (inside Australia) producing the same results.

Make of it what you will, i've been playing via an alternate routed VPN (similar to lowerping) for the past few days now.
