2nd: my PC I'm using isn't exactly that "great" by today's terms.
It's a Dell XPS 170 2ghz Intel pentium (single core) 32 bit w/windows 7. 2 gig mem.
Nvidia GeForce GO 7800 GTX vid... believe 256 meg on that board.
onboard Sigma Tel C-major audio. (nothing drastically fancy)
Driver for audio hasn't changed at all. looks like it actually uses windows driver from '05.
(Problem is it's kind of dell-specific and the company doesn't update any more.
(3.7 on the "windows experience index"
It's old.
However it has ran software great for other games.
For years ran Lord of the Rings online w/o any issues. Great aud and vid handling...great vid "distance" full rendering, etc.
no issues with that.
Aaanyways.
So here's Maestia..
1: mega issues with loading textures for pieces in-game. Go to a map..takes 40 secs for it to populate monsters graphics. (I think this may be more due to the way it singly handles each monster/mob).
Go to town.. and over half the time I can go walking toward the altar in any classes' area and the back end ground/wall/etc textures won't be loaded and I actually "step down" below the ground level as I get close to altar. other people + NPCs stay "below ground" when the ground finally pops up... forcing me to click invisibly at npcs.
But while that is workable...just "ugly", what I was wondering on and if there's any suggestions for...
2: Audio. Every audio piece echoes 3 times getting gradually lower... timed at a "echo per second" rate. Even if it's a background bird "chirp", an attack sound, doesn't matter. Every sound from the game does this echo.
The game itself doesn't have any "deep control" of audio. LotRO and other games would be deeper in configing the way it can direct audio. (using direct to aud driver, processing thru windows control system, directX,etc). but maestia doesn't have that.
So... any clues? I also used to be able to use a carded SB Audigy 2 ZS audio board..unfortunately that card's no longer working so I can't really "try" any other sound systems. All of this is also when Maestia's literally the only thing running.
DirextX 11's good and not reporting any issues, So can't really see "why" only maestia does this.
