Hiya. I am new to this game. Ive quickly decided i would like my friend to be a cleric and level with me. If i am lvl 40 What level does he have to be to level with me in a party and gain EXP?

I heard the gap was 20 levels, so your friend need to be level 20 if your lv 40

Slight correction; the gap allowed is 19 levels.
Given you're still 40 your friend may be between 21 and 59.
