I'm returning from about a 2year break and i'm stuck between creating a Paladin or a Ninja.
I was wondering now, with the new changes, what are the pros & cons of Paladins & Ninjas?
PvE,PvP, solo, team play, cost of getting good gear, skill level.
I played a pathfinder, and im used to the grind. I also dont mind playing any type of class. I just want a fun class to keep me entertained for the next 2weeks - month.
Thank you!

Paladin's block rate and ease to catch are ridiculous. They have skills utilizing invincibility frames so no flinching canceling them, those aura's like time-reverse aren't allowed for pvp use anymore but the ever escaping easy mode Barricade and Roach life still are around for surviving. Dragoons have also gotten a major damage increase and are one of the absolute easiest classes to stack Critical Damage for. Plus they've also been given an aim buff skill which can help w/ high evade if your aim is high enough. Combined with easiness to stack Hp and defense and very easy skills to chain into annoying combos and throw in the ground and air locking ability you have pretty much an overdose of easy-mode.
Ninja on the other hand unless your an over-evading monster actually takes more skill than Paladin. Ok it's still OP but not total face-roll easy. When you hear skilled Paladin you probably would chuckle where as when you hear skilled Ninja your curious as to just what is meant by skilled. Ninja's can also utilize blocking however not as high but evade combo's with it for extra annoyance. A new buff "Lethal Attack" comes as you use certain skills that spikes up your critical rate for a short time. Very short but like Paladin the combo's are easy to learn and use. Being a Theif promotion you can naturally buff your aim pretty high due to always having a max AGI stat. TBH I get killed faster by a Ninja than a Dragoon because of the Critical rate constantly being buffed. Rocket punch's stun can max to a pretty long time meaning plenty of time for dealing damage. The daggers maxing 7 hits instantly when thrown make for a hard-hitter. Unlike Paladin your slightly more challenged to catching. Wood Rush is considered an annoying skill due to it's Wood-Master debuff which lowers movement speed and aim rate by a crap-ton and the frequent hitting of it combined with usually getting hit by it after getting caught in a long stun. Ninja's can also use their Ninja frenzy form for additional skills and a unique style of swapping between that mode and normal. Though only 2 of the 4 skills that form lets you use are useful.
Both of them are considered the best and also considered over-used. Everyone makes one of the two or both for some reason at some point. They're both useful on any pvp team. Though Ninja's are more skill needed despite that OP Critical rate they were given. Also if you have to choose between the two, I'd suggest trying both out.
As for leveling, both are useful on the primary leveling of F6 and F7 and for boss-killing and questing. For F7, you can stun-lock better on a Paladin due to hammer spamming w/ Time Reverse assistance and shield-bash. Ninja's have the potential as well for holding them back.
Both classes can get pretty expensive for good gear. Especially end-game wise.
However tbh just go with what you like. TBH you can play any class and end up loving it.

My eyes hurtBoth have gotten a considerate buff or series of buff since the time you played. Both as Nilla stated are very high damage potential. These are from a PvP perspective as PvE is considered a joke. But both classes are useful in the one dungeon where it isn't insane easy but only cause it's impossible to do without them atm.

Its easier to face roll with ninjas than pallies... At least pallies can't literally 2 skill you.
Roughly the same number of skills you'll see in a basic combo. And both combo's are very basic. I had thought ninja's were less face roll but I guess I was in the past when it needed a lot more skill than now to pvp professionally.
I think what you mean by 2 skill is the immense damage advantage they have over Paladins now. Most Paladins don't whipe through your hp unless they air lock or crit frequently. As for awakenings I see more ninjas using awakenings in pvp than dragoons. (Both of Dragoons are launches, one being a super-powered Aerial Smackdown, but they aren't really worth it pvp wise except for increased damage.)
