You are right, nothing is permanent in life. However that statement holds no water, as most things in life are still valued upon how long they do last. People would rather buy a year membership for so and so amount of money, than a month by month payment right? I would rather buy a TV/Car/House/etc. that I feel is of value....i.e. last for a long time and provides enough value to hand over my hard earned cash. If people were to go by your statement with everything... then people would eat nothing but McDonalds all the time, and drive junk cars that could only last....7 days? <<< willingly. Whether it is a game item, a car, etc.... we still want value when we buy something.
I won't go wild over any mount, just as the entire community isn't either. If you made a new cart right now that was permanent or even a mount that was permanent, I bet you would have a good amount if not a ton of players running around with them all the time. Even with the fact of the them being utterly useless as they only provide speed in which you can go faster other ways anyways, even with that being said if they were just made permanent I guarantee more people would use them. They made an entire new mount system apparently, and literally look around the game... maybe 5 people are using them? lol. Come on, they took an idea that could have been great in the aspect of mounts(even though we already have carts), it still could have been successful, but the way they are trying to give out the product, is ultimately a fail lol. Even this.... "buy $35 worth of IM, and get a 30 day item".
At least when you are comped at Casino you are given cash value to spend, or food to eat(a good meal, not a Mcdonalds coupon), or even a shirt or a cup or something of remembrance.
Point is, if they are gonna keep them temporary they need to be adjusted to something that is valuable even for a temporary amount of time. Speed that isn't even that fast doesn't cut it. Look at boosters, they are temporary but people eat them up because they provide you to be stronger than anyone else(to a point of course, and at least the ideal of them are), and a way for you to rage on someone quickly lol. Boosters provide something you can't get in any other way really. Think of that ideal and that is the ideal they should go with mounts, not saying they should even attack or make you stronger cause that doesn't apply, but take the same ideal of getting something from IM that helps you in a way that you can't get from just in game or another way. Even XP medals for example, they give you double xp which you don't just get for no reason(unless they are having a xp weekend or something of course). I think you get what I'm saying.
