This is not meant to be a bash thread. Infact, Im posting it as some constructive criticism in hopes that our CMs will become more active in the community.

I feel like there is a lack of communication between the staff here, be it game Devs, Community Managers, Moderators, etc and the player base.
Looking through the forums tonight, I noticed that its been awhile since a staff member has really posted with the community.
First off, threads like "Dare the Community Manager" were fun to read and post in. As of right now, the last that was heard of it was Alteris informing us that they would "begin shooting for the video very soon." This was posted on August 9th, and it would've been cool to connect with the community on this project. For example, Alteris giving hints at what it might be, a blurry photo.. something to keep us interested - Not burying the thread completely.

Another example on the lack of communication is with the in-game raffle that is being held. From the players point of view, there is a lot of anticipation and excitement with the prospect of winning one of the prizes. On the Maestia homepage, the community is informed of specific dates as to which the winners will be posted. On the forums, there is only a list of the winners for week one of the raffle, not week two. I know this information is available on the homepage, but I feel it should be posted here, too.
Now, I may be speaking for myself, but the forums act as a gathering place, where information should be shared. I hope that there could be more information posted here so that we may communicate with others on topics that are posted by CMs. Since the incident on European IPs being blocked, I have not found much in the way of any formal representative posting news or trying to keep the community engaged in the forums. Im not asking you to answer every thread, or reply after someone makes a post directed at you... But please please PLEASE start communicating with your player base.

Also, several weeks ago I posted a response to the "Winners of the Summer Festival Event - Week #1." thread, asking about the Looking for Hardcore Players event/contest that was held during closed beta testing, and who the winners might be. I was answered with this: "As for the "Looking for Hardcore Players" event winners, a request has just been sent up for this information. We'll have this posted ASAP!"
ASAP is now just over two weeks later, and I couldnt find any News posts on winners for OBT events. Would a CM be so kind as to provide an update, even if it is just a "we're still working on it" ?

Maybe its just my frustration with online gaming as a whole right now, but the lack of communication is a topic that I feel should be addressed. Leaving your player base with next to nothing to work with is not a good start to what could be a fantastic game and a great gaming community (players and staff!). For something that is so easily remedied, I hope that you will take this to heart.

Thanks,
A veryyyy concerned player.

Not everything is updated, so we speak. The pinned topics are meh (By the way.. the "Official Guild List" poster is already inactive). This forum is only full of questions from other players.. there is no actual "discussion".

In-fact, this whole Maestia Community Chat feels dead.
I totally agree with you though, the "Dare the Community Manager" was buried.. no news about it.. no nothing.
Atleast it was the only one we have ever discussed anything in this thread.. but .. oh well..

What about this one?

At any rate, I agree, there is lack of information available to us on quite a few subjects. Even with updates, things are left out of the patch notes. Increasing the enchantment cap to +10 is an example from the previous patch.

Good point, Toyotomi.
I typically dont check the news feed on Maestia unless Im expecting something, and only because of a lack of communication on here - WarpPortal Forums is one of my instant tabs in the browser, so I can check both ROSE and Maestia in one place... well, at least that was the idea.

And yes, theres a lot of stuff left out of patches that can make a huge difference to players.
I just wish, you know... one of the higher ups could give an explanation for all of this

Grettings,

While I am very new here, I can say from experience, this is expected of most F2P game companies, lets be realistic, unless the game is HUGELY popular, and cash shops making a killing, don't expect much from the company, if they even survive a couple years.

What you speak of Zombie has a name, In the game world we would give a title to the staffer who works with both the community manager and the dev team, "Statistics Manager". There role would be to sift through the threads, and report back things like, oh. most discussed issues, concerns and suggestions. Bug reports, complaints, balance issues, etc. The list is endless. Their job is to compile all the various lists and report back to the two departments so that adjustments can be made, and the community manager can post responses or updates, and even just, Hey we hear you and this is what we are going to do posts. It's really not that hard and the position can be filled by someone who works at home.. lol lowered costs. Hell, they can contact me, I'll do it.

Anyway, I cant even get an answer to why I am unable to log in. I presume the game has failed and no longer available???? what else can I presume with no response from the support team?

Cheers, just wanted to say also I have read some of your responses to other posts, perhaps you should be the new community manager and we can work together. :)

take care

DDom.

ps. hot pic btw.. very nice.

Sorry to hear that guys,

We have been a little busy of late trying to get out as much new content to you guys as possible and attention from the forums have been lost while at it. I'll try extra hard to keep up with the news for you guys.

As for the dare video, we are currently progressing very slow since we want to get new and original music for the video, the composer/DJ we contacted has been working very hard. Costumes have been made and props are still beings created.

We also are working on some cool short videos that we hope everyone in Warpportal can join.

For the winners of the events, we plan to release all 4 week winners at once, this will be posted shortly.

And thank you guys for bringing this to our attention. We want to always strive to do better for the community and the game, and every so often we need a little kick to start haha.
