Hello all, I am new to the forums and I don't know where to exactly post these questions, but since I have an archer I thought I would come here to ask. I'm not entirely new to the game but I guess I still don't understand all the terms yet. I see alot of people asking for players to help cp farm and I just wanted to know like what is cp farming and how to use cp??? or what is it for?? also I see alot of questions on certain builds and I noticed people saying "is it for pvp or pve", i know what pvp is but what is pve?

-CP farming is doing ranked pvp mode at it's time range every day to obtain CP.
-CP is a currency combined with Signs of Hero from BattleSquare for Glorious set pieces. Glorious sets are for some classes a more powerful set you can go for. The earliest glorious set is @ level 44 and the highest is level 70. The set bonuses for each set could either be just an upgrade to the previous glorious set or a new set of bonuses entirely depending on class. CP is also a requirement for the level 60 promotion if you don't use the Achievement route.
-PvE is Player vs Enemy or better known as PvM Player vs Monster. Technically the term is used for non pvp parts of the game such as dungeon running, level grinding, etc. Pretty much anything where you go against the monsters and bosses of the game instead of other players.

CP
CP is the unfortunately named term for points obtained by playing PVP modes. To my knowledge it stands for Challenge Points and is earned solely in ranked PVP matches, and you have to be within a certain level limit of your opponent. (I haven't gotten into PVP to be sure.)

CP can be used to purchase special PVP-orientated gear and is required for one of two paths to complete your level 60 job advancement. The other PVP-less option is Achievement Points. Either of these paths also require Devil's Soul Stones obtained in Hidden Maps (start early as soon as you get a hidden map so you don't have to spend a full hour or more farming them.)

CP happens to stand for "Child Pornography" here in the U.S., and much of the dialogue in Dragonsaga (e.g. the term "CP Store") is unintentionally hilarious because of this.

CP Farming
Finding someone else of your level range and repeatedly duking it out in ranked PVP, when the option is available for a limited time each day.

PvE
Player versus Environment. When your enemy is the CPU-controlled enemies and platforming in the mission maps and such, rather than other players. Basically, everything that's not PvP or GvG is PvE.

Also, you'll want to understand something else you didn't ask for that I think you should know.

When you go to a Mission Map you can hit one of the F keys on the top of the keyboard to pick your options quickly. They slightly changed these options, and some older players still use the old names and thus confuse newbies:

F1: Arcade Mode, also called Mission Mode in some game dialogue. Formerly took up F1~F3.
F4: Chaos Arcade Mode. This is actually F2 now. You need the mission's Chaos Scroll to enter and you must beat the Arcade Mode at least once.
F5: Hero Mode. This is only available when you're fulfilling part of the game story and you can't go back in afterward.
F6: Defense Mode, available only on certain maps and only after clearing their Hero Mode. You'll start seeing it at around level 30 (Kalygon Fleet is the first if I recall.) You need the missions' Defense Orders to enter - 1 order brings you 2 people so a full party needs 2 orders.
F7: Tactics Mode, which is basically a harder Defense Mode and the best way overall to grind EXP. You won't be seeing this until at least level 40. Same requirements as Defense Mode, not sure if you have to clear F6 first to get F7 but if it's greyed out then try doing F6.
