while i understand the need for elemental armors and other types of armors for pvp, why do people not use clock card for regular pvm leveling?
i didn't do the math exactly but just a rough estimate of how much dmg it blocks makes it seem like a great choice with little compettiion

First off, it doesn't give you a perma-guard effect. It autocasts guard, at a fairly high rate. Note that using guard while guard is active cancels guard, and this applies even with the clock card! So Clock card = guard up approximately half the time, not all the time.
And remember it uses level 3, so only 14% proc chance. Also, at lower levels, the guard delay when it blocks the attack is longer :-/

No, the fact that a second proc turns itself off is why it's crap. I think it also turns itself off if you try to take it off after it procs (so it doesn't proc again and turn guard off)Parry is the reason why its crap. It might be good for a GX though.

i have one in a padded armor that i am using and from field testing the uptime is higher than you think, in fact it's up most of the time.
the only real downside is, as you said, the mini stun duration during a guard.
however if you were mainly being a damage soak this problem isn't as pronounced, and even when solo leveling it's more of a nuisance than an actual issue
i didnt think about testing to swap armor tho, i might try it.
also instead of saying it's a good choice, what i am really saying is, while leveling, what OTHER card in armor provides the same amount of damage mitigation?

Who are these most people? Most people will go with pecopeco card for higher levels for more HP to soak up damage. For lower level characters pupa is a pretty popular choice and it gives a lot of fixed HP.
The only reason you need more HP in PVM is for DB (and there are better ways to get HP on armor). Swordsman classes have PLENTY OF HP for leveling in almost every other case. I've never been a fan of +hp cards/effects in pvm, particularly on knight classes, because your hp isn't something that generally holds you back (except ofc for DB leveling, since there it serves an offensive purpose)
I would be inclined to default the appropriate elemental armor, even if it's not really necessary (since you'll have a set of armors already). Or mora set, which doesn't have slot in armor.
