I've read on the wiki that it is possible to bribe the Gloomy wizard with a worn out scroll after you fail at the fire room for at least five times.

Now I'm wondering: Does that still apply to the Renewal server?
In that case I would go out and search for the scroll because right now I haven't got enough money to buy potions and try passing the test any more times.

Does the gloomy wizard say something about the scroll or should I just get it and have it in my inventory after failing five times?

i just ran into the same thing, to answer your question, yes it is implamented in the game. I did it on Valkryie today... tell you my story about this matter....


last night i couldnt pass the test when i tried 3 times... failed at fire (3rd stage). then i decided to just go in and fail on purpose, failed like 5-6 times at water (1st stage), and no offer for the worn out scroll yet... ended up calling it a night and came back on today and got buffs from a guildie and tried it again, failed... tried it once more and failed again.... was getting mad and went back to the gloomy wizard again and it had a new chat dialogue with 2 options... for worn out scroll or continue with the test. So i went and got a scroll from prontera and went back and whalaa, wizard.

note: i heard you cannot get the new option to use the worn out scroll if its in your inventory, though i do not know by experience, its what i heard on other forums/posts.

for the scroll, i heard you can have it in your storage and it will still show the message, just take into consideration that it took me about give or take 8-9 times till that became available...

there was other posts i read about that it had a purposly fail prevention system... meaning that if you fail on purpose it wont show up the message for using the scroll.... then again like my post above, i cannot be for sure.. but good luck, it is there and it does work.
