Hey guys, I was looking around and after looking at a few posts I made my crit battle forge build. I would really appreciate some feedback on this and some suggestions if there is anything wrong. Now without futher ado, here is the build (Without equips):

Str: 74 + 6
Agi: 50 + 2
Vit: 34 + 6
Int: 2 + 2
Dex: 48 + 12
Luk: 78 + 2

I have yet to fully start leveling my merchant so that I could get feedback on this first incase I have to make changes. This also leads me to my question of how much does this build differ from a pure forger exactly? By that I mean the percentages of forge success. I have yet fully decided whether I want to go with this or a pure forger, as the reason for me making this blacksmith is too; A ) support my assassin and other characters and B ) to be my primary funder and make as much zeny as possible. All comments are greatly appreciated and if you did indeed take the time to answer this question I humbly thank you.

x-x I'm no expert on Blacksmiths, nor do I play Classic (I used to play pre-renewal) but I'll try and answer xD. I have no idea what your chances of success are with those stats, but if you only want a blacksmith to support your assassin (which I'm assuming means to forge him weapons or give him buffs) then it's best to just stay pure forger (DEX and LUK at 9x), and that's also how you can make your zeny. If you really want to fight with it, then I suggest getting more AGI, only because since you're a crit build, you'd obviously want to land crits with fast melee regular attacks. The downside to that is that you sacrifice points you could be using for more DEX and LUK to forge, which is why I'd just go pure forger. Also, it's hard to get a lot of crit even with gears, for a merchant that is :x

All I can say is, with that build, if you plan on leveling solo, you will be spending millions of Zeny on pots.

Thanks for the replies, I think ill go pure forge and just leech the blacksmith with my other account.

EDITTTTT: I just thought of a stat build that might work. Please tell me if this would work better.

Str: 74 + 6
Agi: 71 + 2

Vit: 36 + 6
Int: 1+ 2
Dex: 48 + 12
Luk: 58 + 2

Ok, this is just my opinion, but in all honesty, I never thought Battle-forgers were worth making. I tried making once and leveling it was no fun at all.

But anyways, with that build you'd probably have around 174 Attack speed and with a mocking muffler, around 150+ Flee. Your damage will be decent, but I shudder everytime I see a Blacksmith with below 100 Str(unless it's a pure forger). Since a Battlesmith's skill set exploits the Str stat like no other, when compared to the other classes.(I'm referring to all our self buffs. +4 Str, +25% more dmg, ignores size and does 100% damage anyway etc.)

But over-all, that build is pretty decent for a Battle-forger. You're gonna have to make up for it on equips tho, such is the cost of having the luxury of a hybrid.

Yea I see where youre comming from, It doesnt look fun to level at all. I think im going to make a pure forger then a pure battlesmith. How are the battlesmiths in terms of damage and stability? Can they compete with the other classes in WoE?

In all honesty, end game-wise. Not that many can stand up to a Battlesmith. Mammonite is like a Pierce that always hits 3x regardless of size. Hammerfall + Mammonite combo takes care of any character below 60 Vit easily, and if you get lucky and stun anybody 60+ Vit, it's GG for them.

If you wanna level fast, use the Butcher build, which is basically the Agi build, buying a Chick hat might help a bit too. In lower levels your damage won't be up there yet, but that's because you'll be pumping Agi so you can dodge well enough to not waste too much White pots.

Build is basically gonna be:

100-110 Str.

80-90 Agi

40-50 Vit.

50 Dex.

All should be including bonuses. Althought, while a hybrid of 60 Agi, 60 Vit will do you good end-game one both PvM/PvP, it's gonna cost you a lot to level, that, and you need exceptionally good equips to level effectively. First stat you should start pumping is Agi, to at least 70.

Shameless plug:

My Battlesmith leveling, that one is using the Butcher build.

My other one is using a variation between the Juggernaught/Waukeen hybrid build.
