Water Ball needs water under the casters feet to cast, but
-Not every map has water in it
-Wizard learns water ball, but sage learns deluge
-SN learns water ball, but ninja learns watery evasion

WaterBall is a really, REALLY good skill, but its almost impossible to cast without a sage/ninja present, and often they don't realize the enable such a good skill to be used, so they forget to get the skill they have that enables water ball =_=

I was wanting to suggest a card, or item that allows the casting of Deluge, or a similar skill to create water, BUT, autocast wouldn't necessarily work, cause the autocast chances are so low it's barely applicable, evident with the kettle pot hat.

Its a balancing effect. Water ball is good as you say so it requires you need to be in a party to use. Before it was stuck to Sage/wizard parties but Ninjas were a welcome addition.

Before Renewal screwed up magic, every magic ninja I know got Water evasion for the sole purpose to team up with wizards.

It's still a single target that isn't even that strong (unless monsters use it because of the broken monster MAtk formula) and has a hefty delay/kinda high cast time IIRC. Storm Gust is better in every way.

Storm Gust isn't better in every way considering it is possible to take down Gold Acidus in a single cast even though they have 48,430 HP. In Renewal magic might not be as strong as it used to, but when used correctly Water Ball can match up with 3rd Class skills. The idea of an easy way to cast Water Ball would by highly abuse-able and very unlikely to ever be made possible.

Water Ball at Level 5 does 250% damage a hit up to 25 hits. 6250% of Matk meaning that it has 1250% higher damage than Comet and can be used with Mystical Amplification.

Water Ball at Level 10 (MVP Copy Only) does 400% damage a hit up to 100 hit. 40,000% of Matk meaning it has 35,000% higher damage than Comet (Subtracting a Shadow Chaser's Matk it would be closer to say 5000% rather than 35,000%) and can be used with Mystical Amplification Scrolls. (Copying Level 10 Water Ball no longer works and only Level 5 will actually be Copied if attempted)

How are you getting Water Ball to do 97k damage to Gold Acidus...? (they take 50% less elemental damage)
Lv10 Water Ball only hits 25 times for players.

And what on earth are you even talking about?

Water ball at. Lvl 5 does nowhere near the damage of skills like arrow storm, GoH, gFist, and suicidal destruction, furthermore, without first using stone curse waterball doesn't do much more than 1-k Damage. Skills like Judex and adoramus damage the same way but THEY don't have a balance do they?

And they are also a third class skill which requires a higher level than waterball. Of course they should do better.

It's is what I'm saying, it's barely half as powerful as those skills yet it is balanced and they are not. I did some testing with waterball, without stone curse it does between 8k and 14k

And gFist is a first non transed skill >_>

Iirc there'll be a mvp card that enables water ball lvl 5 in future updates. Looks like sorcs and ninjas will be able to make full use of water ball then.

This post was made for the wizards and novices who can't cast water ball, not so sages and ninjas could have it....but it's another side of the issues, they enable it but can't use it...

Maybe waterball needs an item catalyst to interchange with the need for water underfoot
Catalyst when there's no water, water when it's available. Like a water bottle item.

25 streams of 250% MATK = 6250% MATK. More than anything a wanderer without amplifiers can do. And you can mora (Aqua) set it for extra damage.

Maybe ext. novices should be able to learn waterball until level 10, it's a "new" class after all.

Also, I can throw a stream of 3 waterballs in a row in less than 3 seconds by using spellbooks.

But nothing of that solves the problem of requiring water, except... Well, even TV Tropes tell the problem.

Water Ball is an extremely fast, easily spammable, high-damaging Water spell - more so for Rogue classes, who can actually copy an overleveled version (level 10, while the version used by Wizard classes only goes up to level 5). The catch? First, you can't spam it unless you're either standing on water or have a Ninja or Sage slave to help you. Second, if you're using it on a non-PvP scenario, take a guess on what's the Element of a monster that lives near the water.
