I'v been trying to do the alchemist job quest ALL DAY i mean for around... 16 hours now.. but it just keeps bugging ;( i finally made it by the one where you had to make your first potions after several attempts to keep my items from being consumed by a black hole when i click on the npc.. then i wandered around for 3 hours looking for a merchant that sold another expensive item and now i'm one the quest to go to juno and give them the materials... but when i accepted the quest it said my inventory was full... but it was nearly empty so i lost all the items and now i'm screwed to wander the merchants in prontera looking for the materials... why the hell is becoming an alchemist such a repetitive, expensive(i'v wasted 400k), and boring quest line? is there a way to restart the quest to go to juno and get the items from the guy again?

sry if this looks bad i'm just really becoming annoyed at everything going wrong and i'm really tired and want to just finish this...

Guessing i'm just completely fked over by a buggy quest in a game thats 10+ years old then :\ that sucks.

Most people do not encounter that sort of problem on the Alchemist Job Change Quest (or when they do, they have trouble with the mixture creation part).

I'm guessing the next step for you should be step 15 - talk to nicolas, then go upstairs and talk to the guy with crazy hair to change to alchemist. Is this consistent with your experience?

You don't need to bring back the items you get from the npcs in juno, so you should be able to continue without doing anything over - assuming I interpreted your post correctly, and you did successfully get the items from nicolas and then went and gave them to the guys in juno (and just weren't able to receive the reward, which usually sucks anyway)



As a retrospective analysis:

You weren't able to receive the items either because you were close to the weight limit, or you had 100 total item stacks in your inventory. (that's the maximum you can have on a char at a time, and the game generally does not handle the 100 item limit gracefully; for some reason, most npcs only check the current weight, not item count). Also - sometimes that quest can give you awards that weigh a goddamned ton, so you might be surprised how much weight you need.

I have never seen or heard of the potion making training NPC eating items before.
I imagine it could eat the herbs if you took more than a minute to respond to a dialog (all dialogs in RO time out after a minute, and this is usually not handled gracefully)

I usually have the weight problem when my inventory is nearly empty. ;( it says that i'm over my weight limit but if i put 1 single health potion in my cart then i can suddenly pick the item up...
I'v bought almost all the items i need again except for 5 coal and 5 burnt trees which are IMPOSSIBLE for me to get without maybe grinding that mob that has 0.5% chance of dropping it or buying from a merchant which i'v checked and neither have been sold for under 50k each in the passed 2 days.
I'v already spent 500k and 2 days trying to get my alchemist job change... its really annoying and repetitive to be fedex

I have not seen that issue with weight limit before, not heard of it. What server are you encountering this on?
This is probably an issue that should be brought to the GMs attention. (I think ideally via replay recording - use the rec button - while you encounter this problem, move the item to your cart, and then demonstrate that you're now not overweight).

Have you tried talking to the next NPC (Nicolas at step 15)? I don't think you need to gather the items over again and re-do the juno part of the quest. I know Nicolas doesn't take the items from you.

Coal and Burnt Trees are both dirt easy to get from people - people don't bother vending them because they're considered junk. If you're on Ymir i'd be happy to mail some your way, and if you're on a different server, I'm sure we could find someone to hook you up.

I'v tried talking to him again but he just tells me to bring the items to the people in juno.

If it is a certain quest item that wasn't added submit a ticket to the GM team at https://support.warpportal.com they will be able to help put the character back on track.
