Alright, so I'm coming back to RO classic and I decided to make a thief class. I haven't played RO in YEARS, so there is a lot I missed and when they brought back a RO classic server, I had to jump back into it. I always used to play a Knight-Lord Knight class, so I want to make a Thief. Back in the iRO Loki days, I was very heavy into PVP/WoE (especially WoE) and I still am because of the excitement of defending and invading castles.

So let me get to the point: I'm not necessarily sure what route to take on my thief. If I decided to go Sin for WoE, what would be best? Again, I'm coming back from years of hiatus and I'm REALLY broke, so I don't think I could afford a dagger-sin. Is pure luk-crit sin the thing to go still? And what is this I hear about double-attack katar sins with chick hats? Are they viable in WoE?

If I decide to go down the rogue path, I know there is a strip build but do they level slowly? What's the path to take as a Rogue? Bows? Daggers? What's more viable when it comes to WoE/PVP? Also, I found a lot of guides on numerous websites that seem to be incredibly outdated so I decided to come here to you (the source), with all the recent knowledge that could help me come up with stat building/skill tree builds.

Sin, for WoE... People will probably be mad at me if I say they're useless...
Katar with status card into and spam grimtooth. High stun Resist, High asdp, moderate str and inch' allah bro.
Crit build is cool for breaking but Ice Pick are coming???? (not sure about it) I don't recomend it
Don't go dual dagger.

Woe tactics
Don't use Sonic Blow but Grimtooth
ALWAYS equip your shield/poopoo hat when not in "Hide"
Don't break emps with 2 daggers nor katar, always equip your shield when breaking. (unless you have no enemies in sight)
Don't Enchant your weapon with "Enchant Poison"
Equip a status arrow of your choice for Grimtooth. I recomend Cursed arrow
Don't expect to kill a lot of people, focus on status.


This is my vision of Assassin in pre trans WoE. A lot of players will probably disagree with it. You should wait for further inputs before taking a decision

Rogues can make a mess in both woe and pvp, i main a strip rogue and i mostly can divest people on my first 3 tries, also, as a bow thief you have access to the rudra bow, which is pretty strong and can pump up your leveling. I thought at first that bow rogues level really slow like you at first, but knowing the right places is the key to quick grinding, I made my character less than a month ago and I'm already 97, near 98, I'm currently leveling on clock tower HO's with the lancer mercenary. If you choose to make a rogue and need tips on how to build the character or leveling, let me know.
