I;ve read a few posts from different people implieng that twin fighter sucks. I haven't played this game in months and just returned to make a new twin fighter since i forgot my old account. But is it really true that they suck?

Well PvE wise it certainly is pretty tough to do things on their own. Not too grand damage-wise and a massive confusing skill-tree you'll most certainly need help or trial and error to build effectively.

PvP wise they can utilize block-rate, stack insane movement speed (often capping 500+), use an annoying type of knockback that interrupts alot of opponent's skills, a cheap way to keep your twin with you at all times despite it can get locked up freeing him/her from the opponent. and have cheap ways to keep opponents in place. The downside is the Twin is your main damage dealer and such. The main fighter doesn't do much outside a few skills and the twin is your main source of damage and combo's.

This is all from what I've heard. I ragequit trying to make a twin at level 24.
