** Classic Server **

Hi there, I am starting a Gank Rogue today with my goal as to make zeny. I am not going to rush to lvl 99 as I will eventually get there. My main goal for this character is basically to earn zeny.

Here are my planned stats


DEX: 6x
AGI: 9x
STR: 8x
VIT: leftover points


How's the stats?


As far as equipment go for gank rogue, could anyone give me a clue which gear should I go for. At the moment I have

+7 guard[1]
+7 muffler[1]
+7 shadowmancer's helm
grimtooth
robo eye
+7 sohee shoes
+4 pupa ninja suit and shinobi sash

Could anyone give me tips on what weapons to get?


I have no idea which cards or gears to get for rogue as I've never made a rogue. Any comments will be appreciated. Thank you!

Your first step is pinpointing which monsters you want to go after to make zeny.
You can't really go wrong with size gladius' such as triple boned.

hi and thanks for the reply. i would like to farm sleepers. maybe anolian. basically i want my gank rogue to be all around in pvm as long as i'm not farming purely strong monsters.

any other tips? ^_^

Sleepers are a bit tough without a icepick.
Not really sure what else to say. The Kunlun map with peach trees is decent for money.

Until you have an ice pick, don't even think about sleepers.

Trip size gladiuses are where it's at for rogue weapons.

Drop the sohee's for matyr, and the ninja suit set for something better. You want a porcellio card or (if that's not in on classic yet) a picky card in armor, unless you need element for something.

I don't know what sort of options they have for headgear on classic, so I can't help there. If they have the +5 flee mid headgear on classic, you want that, likewise if they have the +flee mini propeller - unless they have a +15 atk +10 flee upper like many of the zodiacs (which we had pre-renewal on main servers).

Accessories should of course be mustle clips for now.

I wouldn't get more than 8x agi - once you can flee your targets, you gain much more in terms of killing speed from adding str than adding agi for aspd - and faster killing = faster loot gathering. Do not listen to the old guides that say you should get agi to give you a stupidly high aspd while keeping str (and hence damage per hit) low to get more chances for gank to proc. The slight increase in gank yield is eaten by the slower killing speed.

Everything seems peachy, but I'd lower DEX to 5x, AGI to 8x, and get STR to 9x.

If available as an option I'd rock a combat knife right off the bat. It's an amazing weapon and you can steal unlimited as a Thief (Cakes from Myst Case)

You're build will work great. Rock on.Gank rogue pretty much a no brainer. And if you can bare Thief job50 you get a free Gladius[3] worth a milish.
