Mage PvP and PvM Build STR or DEX

There's a difference between a PvP, PvM and War/CD Mage. I'll post my best on the following after recently leveling an rebuilding 3-4 times for the best stats I could get for each scenario.

PvP. Stats INT 350-400 CON 200-250 rest DEX
Reason: In a 1v1 You're biggest attribute isn't really your base stats, It's about the utility your mage has. Most people scream noob if you have/use heals in a 1v1, but honestly, it's no diff from a raider - cloak, champ - stuns, knight shield reflect, arti sleep, scout hawk etc. You spend SP to gain things like heals, stuns, mutes, debuffs, mana burns etc. Use them, if people don't like it, well then they probably shouldn't 1v1 with you. [I watch a lot of people pick fights only when they think they can win] The stats above provide:
Good - Maximum power
Decent - Good accuracy
Average - Fair dodge

I recommend you get lv 4 purify to remove burns / statuses [-def%]
Mute is a must
2-3 Stuns
Attack Buff and either def / acc / hp buff [only pick 1 of these 3] Spirit Boost [must]
My mage also uses 2 heals.

PvM Stats
INT 400
CON - 200
STR 100+

This provides
Maximum power
Good PvM accuracy
Decent DEF+HP

Skills:
Fire Mage all tree, Ice tree up to Icy Hailstorm. Purify lv4. 2 Heals. Spirit Boost. Attack + Mspd Buff. Aural Pierce.
-tips- learn to use mana burn, it is a close proximity aoe def- + burn + MP-.
When facing a particularly strong group, Aural Pierce + Mana Burn + burst AoE's.

War / CD Mage
This one a bit tougher because I've have very limited experience so far. But there's 2 that I'm aware of.

Build 1 is for an AoE Fire mage. A lot of people will doubt you if you're a fire mage and use fire spells. But here's the trick or whatever you might call it. 90% of fire spells are reliable. They're only 20% weaker than Ice but they NEVER miss. When you're on the attacking side of a CD match or entering TG/Ruins w/e for war, all your enemies are bunched up into 1 initial pile. This is perfect time to use the rotation below

Aural Pierce, Icy Hail Storm, Mana Burn, Meteor Shower.

You may then take your options of either targeting 1 enemy from a range [recommended] or running into the frey to burst AoE [not recommended, draws attention to self + takes heavy AoE damage from enemies]
Playing as a far mage has its tricks and dissadvantages. 1, You don't get the initial use of massive mspd- spells like Ice. 2. If you dont drop your MP passives, you run the risk of not getting the soul electric [2nd range stun].

But you get some big advantages. a decent amount of CON/ACC will land a blow on most classes, and if you're facing a raider and your acc is low, you'll still be doing atleast half damage. Where-as a raider/scout can dodge Ice mages all day.

2nd build is more for a balance War / CD mage. Here your focus is entirely CC's [crowd control]. Here you will mix Ice tree slows, fire staff stun + hellfire, mutes, debuffs etc. Anything that will prolong a fight so your burns + team mates can whittle down your enemy, while you range damage them. The goal of your stats, is to provide good damage, good acc and good def [cause mages REALLY just flat out cannot tank more then 1 person, especially without heals.]
You do need a gear set to support this stat build however. 60/40's In just about all gear w/ Typhoon Sagi/PO7 [depends your pref]. Or if you want to use the pvp sets 2 part glor [hand + feet] 2 part prec/chiv [head and chest type depends on play style aswell]. Really, this type of mage is especially usefull in locking out clerics, slowing melee chars and being a general distraction. There's no set or recommended rotation, just learn to properly time your stuns, mute enemies who need it [cleric if there is one] and burn heavily armored players [knights/champs].

gah mouthful. Hopefully that puts some type of perspective on the stats, and correlation to different uses.
