Drop tables still need work, it is pretty brazen to declare they are working as intended right now.
duno. IS this how they wanted the drops to be for crafting? i keep wondering if they are trying to put us back to some form of irose. many of this past years changes seem to be such (pvp in temple, etc) however, in older irose, having crafting mats be rare, and when you are able to obtain a crafted item, it was awsome... but back then a little stat went a LONG way. however not how stats are applied now. (i.e., dex 6 was godly 4 years ago. now tis garbage, and dex 20 dont do much since dodge is broken anyhow - and +20 of any stat doesnt help that much either, unless its AP.) So if we cannot mass craft something for good to godly stats, it is of no great help. and yet, not enough drops are avail for crafting to attempt any type of mass crafting. so if we want godly stats, we soon will be forced to mall items and reroll hammers.
Enemies below the leader rank do not drop gear; ok. But enemies leader and above drop every single piece of blue for that level range. It's illogical. When fighting these enemies the floor becomes littered with useless blues. It should be one enemy drops legendary gear, another drops dark, another drops grand etc. (most of those blues are useless anyway and need an upgrade). These blue armor and weapon drops from a boss are just a slap to the face.
+1million to that. cant emphasize that enough. having 150 various blues items, maybe 5 weapon types, then 30 various gems/chems or other boss drops, (and, if boss, mabye 2 or 3 uniques) drop from a leader/subboss/boss type, means you might get to kill 50 of them before you out level it. but odds of 50 kills out of 150 - 200 possible drops, what is chance that you might get the specific item you were looking for (cleric hunt for ledgendary chest peice, and so on... Ok so what? they want even ledgendary gear to be rare. you have to suffer thu wearing dark/demon/ what ever you could find. guess that explains all the level 70 newbies ive seen this week on luna in visitor garb and level 10 weapons, wondering why they die every 5 minutes. It made much more sense before to have specific armors and weapons drop from certain mobs, and be able to go farm those items if you need them. whether that is a weapon, an armor, a material for crafting , or an unique.
and personally I would be glad to see a weapon drop in game, see more than maybe 5 weapons a week, so i could disasemble them for the materials that dont drop!!
Many items don't even drop anymore such as the full moon ring, deathblow and shadow necklace, cart Schematics are also victim to this.
Ive asked, like a year ago, where did they put items such as lucky necklace, assassins, etc etc, why were they removed / when will they return, either by gypsy, quest, or what ever. but no answer. then when they fell off the drop list last march, i asked again, about fmr, shadow, warrior ring, etc and again, no answer. and it was never even in the update notes over past 2 years that any of this was removed. (backdoor changes) I also brought up that a number of Uniques were also left off the drop table. and again, no answer. i dont think they answered why pharo mask chest was left out of OT raids, or why mummyking/mammy queen and ot bosses no longer have OT uniques as drops, yet varus (for example), does.
Other items are not in the correct level range, as Tangobaby said, Bird feather and Nymph Powders are used to craft 1 wing each yet they are a map drop for practically every map in the game. Where as Paper Wing Pieces are used to craft 2 types of wings, yet they only drop from 2 monsters: Hook's and Orpe Luketes. Not even Eudy's yet the wings belong to them!
good thing orpe drops limpid skins. maybe eyeglasses still have a chance to be crafted. Im guessing as a lvlv 200 drop its considered garbage and left on the ground, since no one has em to sell to artisans. Too bad you cant actually craft eyeglasses (grade 3-ish face craft) till you hit 200 and can farm the mats tho.
They really need to put drops to where the materials you need to craft are accessable for a specific item at the level range needed to craft said item. so yes, mask craft lvl 9, level 90 should be able to obtain the item like etil for ego mask, and so on. and that should apply to any and all craft items. also would make sense if a level 90 could craft a grade 9 clothing craft item, and not be forced to be level 200+ (royal crown - IMO either make it craftable at lvl 90 or put it in advanced clothing craft).
and even with that if it is ever done, the drop rate still blows. sen crafting mats should be map drops not monster drops. (ex. a full 12+ hour day of 4x drops with aoe farming, to only obtain 56 ice shards.) no way i will be able to mass craft Mask of Lies or shaman wing hope i can get to them frozen scales before drop event ends. .
Destruction drills drop like rain practically everywhere, what good are they if there are no gems to destroy!?
haha true. doesnt make much sence that i have 3+ rows of various gems in my inventory when i farm, maybe totalling 70+ gems, but mabye 20-30 chems after 2 + hours.
I have to wonder what, exactly was wrong with the old drop system that it needed changing so badly, and to this.
