I'd agree with some kind of tax system. I think its a good idea. Many people have suggested it before so IMO if they added i'd be happy.

buh I'm poor :)

tax system = bad :dunno:

And couldn't this lead to even more inflation - IE; People selling items higher to make up for loss of tax's? :D

I still cannot login. It says "Servers are currently undergoing maintenance."

They're doing another maint.

the only way for new players to become rich now is to buy item mall items and sell them in game. has anyone noticed the ridiculous prices for IM stuff? 100m+ for skill reset. etc.

Yes, I'd agree with one too.

But the problem is that only the rich people should be taxed for this to work. This would be extremely hard to implement, as there's no reasonable way to find out who's rich and who's not! This would, as I said, most likely make the rich people nerdrage a lot, and with the rich people usually also being the highest IM buyers, it might not be a smart move from Gravity financially speaking. Don't forget that the game runs on IM-profits - I'm not an active Item Mall consumer myself, but this is the fact we'll have to live with!

As said, they could try to make some cool costumes that some NPC would sell for several billions, but there's no guarantee that anyone would buy these. This being because these costumes (or carts or whatever) could only be used for cosmetics, as if they had some overpowered stats the community would once again be enraged.

But it would barely fix the problem, as newbies would be taxed too. We would need a progressive taxation system, but there's no way to implement one ingame.

In my opinion the inflation is almost impossible to fix, and you can't expect the developers to solve a problem of this difficulty. After all, similar problems are causing headaches for the highest educated economists around the world. There's always more than one side to a problem when it comes to economies and societies, and the big picture is extremely hard to understand.

As I said in my previous post, theoretically the inflation should come to a halt at some point. We'll just have to wait.

Thank you for the compliments Canehda, by the way :) Trying my best to make some sense out of the situation going on :D

this will never happen but the only way to really fix the economy is to put everyone's zulie into one pile then split it evenly to all players. everyone has the same amount and go from there. of course the richie riches of the game would quit in a heartbeat. myself included lol. :D

But a 1% tax on everything sold at vending shops would be barely noticed by newbies as they generally don't trade with items of extremely high value.

That's true in a way, but keep in mind that the only way for newbies to gain zulie is by selling large amounts of high value materials to the more experienced players. These shouldn't be taxed. 1% is always 1%. It wouldn't fix the real inflation, prices would just universally drop by 1%. I doubt that the people with 10-20b would notice a loss of a few million :D

Economic inequality can't be fixed by flat-rate taxation, progressivity is what we'd need (richer people should be taxed heavier than poor people). As I said, the inflation in itself is not the problem in this situation. The problem is that some people hold significant amounts of wealth and thus cause a major distortion in the economy. The current problem (the inflation) is caused by a few messed up patches back in the days. This problem should fix itself by time, but a few well inserted zulie drains (aimed at rich people) might make the process a bit faster.

The rich people would still get taxed for a lot more.

1% on an item that costs 2 bill is 20 million zulie. Which instantly disappears from the game while 1% on let's say a Low Essence is like 600 zulie.

the tax method sounds good and do note that its objective is to take away zuly from market. 1% is quite a lot to be honest. imagine 1M gone from ROSE for every 100M.... each day perhaps we are talking about more than Trillion worth of zuly transactions. over a good period of time, it will definately help to reduce zuly from market and hence should start helping in inflation...

Yes I know. But it would also eventually be more expensive for newbies to get their gems and UW gear. This would technically delete 1% of the games total zulie indeed, but it wouldn't have an effect on the real inflation (although the prices might decrease, we would also have less money to spend). As I said, the inflation in itself isn't the main problem here - the problem is that some people have enough money compared to others to cause this inflation (and a flat tax of 1% wont change this, in my opinion).

But in all fairness there should already be a much higher decrease in the total amount of zulie ingame at the moment anyways. New zulie can't really be made in large amounts anymore, whilst it's being spent on NPC by the millions every hour.

EDIT:

Anyhow, I think we're talking about different things anyways :D The fact is that the amounts of zulie that could be once made are unfair compared to the amounts that can be made now. As long as this "old money" exists in such huge sums, the people with more money compared to others can abuse this situation and buy at higher prices, causing inflation. A 1% universal tax would undoubtedly bring the overall prices closer to the NPC sums though!

Disappointed...Increasing zulie cap takes like 5 min? the day after the thread was made genesis had already figured out how to solve the problem.

Still no HP fixes...the whole PvP is just stupid at the moment...you can't even trust your HP bar cuz u might die all of a sudden with 70% hp.

Also, I, Phish and some others have posted many suggestion about class balancing. I don't think you should do everything we suggest, but at least those small changes which would make us happier and at the same time would balance some under\overpowered classes a little. I have no idea seriously, why you keep ignoring those threads.

The WarpPortal storage? I was told it was a good idea and that it'd be passed along. Then nothing, as usual.

Hah, yes! I used to use it all the time back in iROSE/euROSE, but I had totally forgotten about it's existance until I read that it was fixed from the patch notes :D

Did it exist all this time or did the bug just re-appear at some point? The slow motion walking bug after riding on someones cart has been around since iROSE days too, and it still hasn't been fixed!

  • Increased zulie cap on trading and vending.

You should also put in decimal points or spaces as thousands separators, when putting up money or setting prices in trades and vends.
That would make trades of large amounts of zulie a bit safer, as it's hard to really tell the difference between 100000000 and 1000000000, for example. 100,000,000 and 1,000,000,000, on the other hand, is a lot easier!
