You can no longer create a purchase shop or vend shop within a 7x7 area around any NPC.This will be so nice to have.

Just make it so you can't vend/buy/chatbox inside Eden Group please. It's too small a place for that. I do like the idea of making a safe zone around all NPC's in-game too.
Better idea. Move the entirety of eden group to old payon.

The functionality is definitly there. Didn't they do something similar with the raffle NPC?
Sort of, they had to put in npc to block everyone, but if you did that to everything in game it would increase the lag, or so heim said a long time ago.

They just need to make it bigger, alike alot bigger. IF they are going to keep putting good stuff in there they need to do something abotu the size of the eden group.

I always found new payon better, but even I have nostalgic feelings walking around old payon, and it would be some kind of "eden" for many many players. There's enough place for the NPCs and I think many would appreciate to see shops again at the main street of old payon ^.^

5x5 would be enough of a distance that the NPC would remain clickable with minimum impact on vend placement.

Also I hate the pigs that take up space and cover the npcs in eden group.

turning old payon to the new eden group area would be nice however I think it may be to large of a field for the current number of npcs. Group them together and you waste space. Spread them out and you have to run to npc to npc

placing the quest-signs left and right to the main street.
placing the quest-based npc's (original eden group) together, placing the kafras together, placing the blacksmith together and place the special npc's for ViP services together.
This would make fine groups and a nice placing without to long routes or to crowded places

But yeah an auto feature to not plop down vends within distance of NPCs isn't a bad thing. I don't think this would qualify as a "skill update", I think it would be a system update that wouldn't be automatically coming with our planned skill update.
I will be posting a bit more info about the skill update plan, as it has "evolved" in the past 2 weeks with our discussions with the Development team. But first maintenance patch notes.

I think this particular change is a change to the Vending skill and Open Buying Store skill. Basically, it checks the 7x7 area around the character for NPCs.
if (!areaHasNPC) cast Vending else print "Cannot open shop near an NPC"
Anyway, are you allowed to request a particular skill/system update and get it right away? I remember us getting a lot of random updates that ninja'd their way in that weren't supposed to be in until much later.
This would be an awesome update to have.
