Yea sure you can join one of the large guilds like Animosity and Azure Breeze thinking hey big guild i cant get killed during war! Well it still happens!
Yea there is also non-woe guilds and such but just add a little spice to your life with WoE!

I say if you want to play and enjoy the game, you need to have some friends to do it with.
Vagrant being a new guild will not have as many people but will not have the egos of other large guilds.
