what exactly does stockpile do? could anybody give me an explanation of it?

Yea I really didn't understand it either till I dug through the old forums and found a few threads and did some research. For my bourg what the skill does is the closer the monster is to blue to you. say the last level thats it green to you your chance of getting 7 - 10 items in a stack increases hugely. On some things I farm when you hit the perfect level you will get stacks of 9 and 10 items 80% of the time. I really love the skill.

& Main use is just to prevent (1) drops. Sure you can farm monsters the first level they turn blue and try for 10's, too.

so basically, you have to farm blue monsters to get any decent use out of it? that doesnt sound very appealing

what are you talking about? do you farm purple monsters? when you are farming the idea is to kill quickly to get the most drops in the least amount of time. This works best with lower level mobs.
And like Jagz said stockpile's biggest advantage is that you will never get a (1) drop unless it's a dirty. This alone would cut your farming time almost in half.
If you are not farming a specific mob or drop then looking for something that is in it's last level of green or first level of blue will give you the best results.

I always find people posting this comment but it never makes any sense, ive had the skill masterd for the last 27 levels and I get 1's all the time, it doesnt stop 1's as far as I have ever seen, so is there some kind of odd formula that involved lvl 215 and this skill that seems to be hidden from the rest of us mid-lowbies??

What level are you? And I mean like Dragon Scale (2), not you shoot a monster and Dragon Scale and Limpid Skin pop out.

Im not saying its double drop rates. Im saying I get stacks with the quanity of an item being 1 and im 131.

I get 4-8 mats/chems on purple mobs from orlo lvl 206 bourg with lvl 3 stockpile but gems only to 4, my cleric pickup gems with quantity 8-10 in party with my my bourg - what a game !!!!.

just fyi since this was not addressed. This should not happen. If this is the case then you should submit a ticket for them to take a look at it.
The only reason that I could see this would happen is if you were in a party and did not get first hit on the mob.
The bourg with stockpile has to get first hit on the mob - otherwise everyone would dual client a bourg and spam pickup when they farmed.
