Quality of work is determined by processing, that processing being the testing phases. Pegasus will be reinstated which will allow select players (or all, I have no idea,) to actually enable testing on content before it is released. This will fix problems with glitches and bugs, and undesired content that everyone is complaining about.

It's great to see that some players like you have still an optimistic way of seing things (no sarcasm in this sentence). I confess i lost mine a while back but truth to be told, i hope you are right and i am the one with the wrong idea. As always, time will tell. Let's just hope it's not too much time.

Always nice to get some information like this. The main thing is to keep the game interesting for players that play longer then 6-8 months or so, because you've done most of the stuff by that time.
Good luck!!

I own one character, have only owned one character, and have only played through the game one time. I disappeared for awhile after being selected to moderate the forums (as I have some life issues I have to deal with,) and I'm currently back in order to try and at least benefit the community a tidbit more if at all possible.

Regardless of the issue, I'll present where I stand. But at this moment, complaining will get no where. Addressing issues and promoting positive discussion will.

Its not easier, but we what you read maybe doesn't explain that we want a 50/50 relationship between PvP content and PvM content, not just 1 or the other.

I started playing Rose Online because it was mostly PVM type play. That is still the case. I have never been very interested in PVP much, otherwise I would have chosen a different game. I've seen MMO games that when you go out to kill monsters, any Tom,-_- or Harry can come up and kill you just cause they can, because those games were mostly PVP. Sounds like about as much fun as well, none at all. Where is the fun of some 15 year old punk with a fat wallet wrecking my relaxing time playing a game? Keep PVM areas as they are please and add new high level PVM content.

Coffee what you described is what would be called a PK system and what we would be working on would be Player vs. Player or Group vs. Group and would not affect your PvM enjoyment.

I'll agree with Coffee on this one, if ROSE was a PK type of game, I wouldn't have even joined.

I'm not sure I understand the difference, excluding Group vs Group. I understand Group - thats Union Wars, and the map outside the city of Muris (Hebarn vs Aura). At least the way I understand it, Player vs. Player means you can attack another player in the PVP map. How is that different from a PK system? If I don't want to be bothered by someone with a chip on their shoulder, generally I can avoid those places like the DOD, CF, Training Ground, etc.) and enjoy the game without that element. That isn't hard because the majority of the game has plenty of areas I an enjoy with only PVM play. I havent estimated the percentage, but I'd say its a fairly small percent that includes PVP. Thats the way I like it.

Basically I'm curious how moving the game toward 50% PVP, how will that work? Does that mean that in about 50% of the maps essentially, people can walk up and attack me in one form or another?

Coffee your reading it wrong, what we are talking about in the OP is that what we are going to spend our future time on a slip of 50/50 between that. Not that the game will be as such. What we want to do is make use of the game arena and add pvp at an even rate of PvM. This doesn't mean maps are going to switch to open PK like DoD. Hope that clears it up for you.

That's it cal, keep erasing posts about how you refuse to release any pvm content. Doesn't change the truth that the pvm players on this server are totally alienated and have for the most part quit.

Ok, I think I see what your getting at. It isn't moving the game to a goal of 50/50, its the time being spent on development on those items going forward. Yes, that clears things up.

I do look forward myself mainly to the 50% PVM, and I hope that allows for things like Orlo Chapter 3 and more beyond that. My impression of the original long term vision and plans for Rose Online was, as we know, seven eposides/seven planets, which most of those planets was to have the large share as PVM play and leveling. It certainly seems Orlo 3 should be a major item on the radar and the near future hopefully.

Thanks!

Once again if i wasnt so dissapointed, this would get me a good laugh. I must be wrong but i had the strong feeling that the last few years we have seen many PVP content, tweaks, changes (whatever you want to call it) and almost no PVM. Oh wait! You mean you are going to add PVM at an even rate of PVP? That sentence was just wrongly written. Phew, you almost confused me! (Sarcasm mode off).

Edited to make it look nicer...delete it and show your fear of the truth:

Doom and Gloom? Where the hell is the light? Your own words do not describe ONE thing that relates to what this whole server runs on which is pvm. Pretty hard not to be doom and gloom when you commit to stuff a bunch of us has NO interest in whatsoever and IGNORE that Rose is about which is RushOnSevenEpisodes. NOTHING you said in your speech had ANYTHING that actually relates to any planets or ROSE!@!!!! I cannot beleive that these forums aren't physically on fire with how you talked about everything but actual content. Back in the old days when there were more people playing, you wouldn't be able to click SUBMIT at this point there would be so many people flaming the hell out of things.

I challenge you to defeat even one of my post's points.

I'm so angry I want to BREAK things. I feel very passionate about rose and I would just like something to do! 8+ months of sitting in a store does that to you. :sigh:

I'm also sad...as I write this post I'm playing another MMORPG on my left display that a ton of us who played rose are now playing. I got approached by a couple people to play and I finally gave in. Pretty sad that I have to leave the server I love to play another game I don't love but at least gets content updates. :)

That said i'd still come back if there was ever anything added to do but it doesn't sound like that's going to happen. :Emo_16:

They will never understand the passion, the love and the care we had for this game. Not being dramatic but this is the end of an era. Im convinced they are making a huge mistake, but they are in charge. When the ship sinks i won't even have the pleasure to say "i told you so" because i will be too sad to have lost the game that i loved for more than 6 years.
Side note: would you be so kind to pm me the name of the game you are trying. I need to do something with my free time :thumb:

Honestly, I don't think you are the only one to think this way. Many of my long time friends, too, left ROSE. I, too, love ROSE dearly. However, if i said, "I am never thinking about leaving ROSE for another MMORPG," then I am lying. It is sad to coming to cross road, but people move on when ROSE Online is no long ROSE online, which we knew and loved. Advices and knowledge seem to fall on the deaf ear when the administration team refuse to listen to us. Even the Community Senators question whether their ideas were heard by the administration team. It is just sad when nothing seems to work when we are dealing with the administration team, who has the ability to modify and remove anything they do not want to hear. It is just sad. The plan for the next 2 years seems to only focus on the IM and IM relates instead of the actual content for the game. If the same effort, which was focus on developing IM in this year, was used to create the new Content, it is possible that we already have the fifth planet to be the least. The jewelry system seems promising, but if anyone plays other version of ROSE (speed Rose and aural ROSE for example), they will know that the planning for jewelry system is very similar (almost identical) with speed ROSE and aura ROSE, which existed for at least 1-2 years ago. The NaRose's jewelry system will be facing a tough innovation and differentiation challenge. If it cannot stand up to the challenge, then the entire system will be another cheap knock off imitation. If that is the case, it is very difficult for anybody to feel exciting. And if we cannot feel any exciting, it is most likely that we will leave ROSE and join other MMORPG for good by the end of December 2011. It is sad, but that is what many of us will do.

After pROSE Shut down its operation on 2007, i found refuge in NaROSE. and to see this post -- it feels as if history will repeat itself once more. I dont want to see ROSE go downhill again. C'mon guys, there's a Proposal & Suggestions' forum. At least try to realize what we really need and want in the game.

And BTW, that premium account thing, people don't like to feel poor in-game when in fact it is happening in real life. it will set a standard that will separate 2 kinds of players. RICH and POOR, PROS and NOOBS no matter how high your level is, as long as a player doesnt own a premium account, he will always be called a noob. IT'S AN ONLINE FANTASY RPG! it's an escape from the real world. :thumb:

Really hoping your ideas will have a positive effect. do hope so. :sigh:

You consider 4 (if not 1 or 2 more,) developers to not be small in proportion?...

Mojang (minecraft) only has 7 and yet they are one of the best games in the world atm O:
Edit: Not to mention only 1 guy had created it from nothing to get to a stage where he could hire his own team...
