I used to play a Battlemage back on the SEA servers, but since I'm gonna be starting over, I'm having a difficult time between picking to play as a Battlemage or Acolyte. I want to be viable in both PvE and PvP, and I've heard that Battlemages are okay at both (and I'm assuming Alcolytes are God-mode because of their heals) though I'd really like some other opinions on the classes. Although I think I'd rather do some leet deeps with the Battlemage, if it's not a very viable to class to play, I'd be willing to pick up Acolyte. (I know that I want to play one of the Magicians, though.)

Thanks for any advice! =)

I have a lvl 65 shaman as my main and lvl 50 warmage. Honestly.. it just depends on what you like. I find wm are so much easier to lvl up (once you get blizzard) compared to shaman (x spam hurts!). in pve in general I prefer warmage. x spamming gets very boring and tiring. although, one pro for shaman is that I rarely ever had to buy HP/MP pots for myself. shaman equipments are high in demand and very expensive; even though you don't spend coins on pots, you'll need to invest a lot of time to money hunting to buy equipments.

pvp.. as an acolyte when aim is not THAT important, playing an acolyte in pvp was really fun. at higher level you really need to have good equip to play a shaman well, sometimes to even stand a chance. shamans need base aim or else our freeze/frog rarely works as soon as your opponent hits 80+ evade. plus if you pvp lots using a shaman you need to stack health too, which tends to get expensive. ALSO keep in mind, when you play a shaman in pvp, EVERYONE on the opposing team will aim to kill YOU first, so half the challenge of pvp with a shaman is to learn to survive.

I loved my wm in pvp for the longest time. wm are super fun! if I can go back and choose I would've picked wm. but I've invested too much time on my shaman that I won't leave her

IN SHORT: warmage! but if you invest enough into your shaman it pays off

Thanks for the opinion! I'm looking to play casually and I don't want to spend any real-life munnies on the game at all. Warmage sounds fun! =D

WM can get just as expensive as health stacking is pretty much the norm for WM. Also, health WM items weren't that cheap last time I checked (not to mention they're getting rid of spell cancel and require them to have aim post patch).

They do need aim after patch. Sorry to break it to ya. But I heard there are quite a bit of good side in having that change.

That's true. The WM spells have a chance to crit now, so remember to stack enough AGI and AIM equip.

I have both, WM LVL65 and Shaman lvl58, although i have a char of each and all of them are above lvl 53, Best char of all Harlequin, between WM and shamans, well there is not much to talk about really, shamans suck at everything except for revive and area heal they are the worst of all chars.

Unless that was sarcasm, you suck. Shamans are good at everything except being boring. They literally don't need pots (occasional mp pots) and is an incredible dps. They are also great support with awesome heals.

This is why I tell people when I am being sarcastic. It cuts down on confusion. Now, to stay on topic.

Shamans are pretty good buffers/healers and have incredible DPS as stated before. Post patch the are Mini-warmages, without the mini. Oh and better than warmages as well, but that's just opinion.

if you go warmage make sure to not just stack hp get a mix between aim and health

if you go acolyte go with aim and some damage rings since it affects x damage or something like that

Well, it was just an opinion and I was not trying to be sarcastic, priest are the worst chars there is, they are plain and simple boring, has no effective skills worth mentioning except for heal and revive they are loosers all the way, although their main tactic should be to heal revive and run. Best chars in this order: 1 Harlequin, 2 warmage, 3 Pathfinder, 4 paladin, 5 grenadier, 6 myrmidon, 7 ninjas and 8 the worthless Shaman. By the way I was not trying to offend anyone. Keep your sarcastic comments to yourself you *************.

Look I know double shot its ok, but its not devastating enough to take on mobs and to be honest, they should have made triple shot more devastating then double shot, but who knows who made that mistake, anyways I ususally play 2 chars at the same time and I bring my shaman to heal when needed and revive, hes my leeching char.

No it was mention as in general use, if we go to PVP I will go with Harlequin, paladin, Ninjas, pathfinder, warmage, myrmidon, priest and then grenadier.

Why would a tier 2 skill be stronger than a tier 3? It kills mobs faster than most the other classes.
LOL @ NEEDING REVIVE FOR PVE.

Okay pick Grenadiers last, but why are Shamans that low on the list? You seriously think Harlequins are top tier? Their [Shamans] heals and debuffs make it extremely one sided if the other team doesn't have one, or atleast a warmage.

I swear, I can be you both in PvP in PvE with level 35 Sin and you with level 45 any class.

I loled hard when you put ninjas and shaman on the list lower than harle.

No need to generalize and bash its whole class JUST BECAUSE you're bad at it.

Are u out of ur mind. You sound just like a noob :) . For me i had a lvl53 ninja and killed all harlquins in pvp who pvpied me. Never was 1 able to defeat me :) with their stupid dances ( No offence meant but i know some harl users who r good :D ) According to me, Harlquins r for ppl who like simplicity bcause u dont hav to think much bfore using skills. U just have to cast stance n then use cossack dance, windmill, final descision and upperscrew driver and repeat. I had a harl but i found these moves boring. Ninjas r much better having nice passive skills and a wide variety of attacks. You could say i love ninjas :D so i rate them the 3rd place, switching pathfinder to the 7th. nlvwithgms i mean no offence but u do seem to like char easy to use from ur list. And well shamans r really good i would rate them to the 5th or 6th place :) .

Yeah totally, Harlequins take no skill whatsoever. Only the pros can be like Sasuke and Naruto.
