So, if I want to make a 65 Ranger for FoC, which 65 armor set do I want to use and why? Could I ask some of you more seasoned players to maybe post screenies of a reinforced piece of each armor so I can see which stats get upgraded and compare them in detail?

cheers

Monster Hunter +15 or better enchanted with 3-3 SvS xeons(depending on the grade and enchants on your Reinforced jewels) or ion mine Fire/Electric/Curse resistance(of course this depend on the grade of reinforced of your Theme Launcher and Theme resistance ornament) even some ion mine defense xeons

Thanks for the quick replies, I've been leaning toward MH anyway, just needed a confirmation

Still lots and lots of lant to collect before the kind of gear mentioned in Salubri's post, but I'll get there :D

Well, got my MH, it's only up to +5/+4, because when I tried ++'ing it, it failed on 98.8% twice in a row, setting the item back by 2 grades (twice), and I really couldn't afford breaking my hard earned MH pieces at that point :wah: This was during the ++ event btw

As for the rest of the equip -

set of +15 jewelry with crit xeons (regular 0.30% ones - these will get replaced by IM phys crit xeons in time), thinking of getting 2 TB bracelets for the lightning and fire resist
+20 lvl 65 frost wind launcher with defdown and 3-3 xeons (till I get enough TB points for a TB launcher).
+50 attack str TB ornament (I'll also get a resistance one and switch between them based on the situation)

MH is still unenchanted - I'll enchant it once I figure out what my biggest weakness in FoC is and shove either resist or phys def xeons in it

any thoughts? :wah: this is my first char after all, i'm still very much a noob and have no foc 65 experience whatsoever

If you have no resistance then you will have no time to switch between those TBF ornaments. Rangers dont have much HP, atleast not enough to survive 3 crits in a row.

Actually, what I meant was keep the resist on me at most times, and only use the attack when I know I'm safe and can just pew pew without fear

Yup, thats good. I do the same on my Mystic... I only switch to the damage one when im facing a team with a lot of melee chars.

MH > Rangers (AA = Physical Crit)
FoC > Avenger (Traps = Skill Crit)

Sure, your range may be 10 meters longer (6, if you're not using fixed firing at the moment)... but common, running 6 meters takes around a second and a half, the average damage you can do to casters before they get in range is around 700-800 (well, more if you get lucky). Then they one-shot you because you're made of paper.

You need the resists, seriously. Also, I enchanted my MH with phys def, because I found other rangers and rogue types to be my biggest problem. Besides, I'll get the resists from the TB ornament and launcher.

As a side note, god damn I die allot
