I tried for long enough now it's time to throw a bug report at this one.
It's impossible to catch any venomous hooded aspers to complete this quest, I've tried everything.
Tried using 30 nets on one asper and each net fired then disappeared, leaving the monster there attacking me. No proofs are obtained and the monster is not netted as it should be. I have tried totally leaving the game and loading again, tried at as many different spawn places as I could find and it's just not working.
IT'S BUGGED!

so to follow up on the quest. I thought it might have to do with getting the six parts before getting the snakes. So after getting the parts I went to the snake south of the Quest giver
10 nets all miss
I went to the west of the Quest giver
10 nets missed
there is another snake a little in the west of qest giver to the south
10 nets missed
Just for good measure got another 10 and went south of quest giver again
all 10 missed again.

Just start hitting the snake with spells. When its on one spell to kill it, throw 2-3 nets, then kill the snake. That's how i completed the quest.

OK, I confirmed you do just have to kill them - and you do need to be using skills if you wanna get past their insane dodge rate (even "Dual Scratch" helps!).
It doesn't seem to matter if you use a net or not.
When I get the chance, I will see if I can figure out the original intention behind this quest (and the nets) and make adjustments to rates where appropriate.
In 10 kills, I only ended up having 2.
From a pm I had with Qilin about this quest... when I skipped the nets and just killed them... I was able to complete the quest with no problems...

problem is I am a level 182 artisan and even with the hunters they are incredibly hard to kill.

As for the 182 Arti... it isn't like they do any damage to you... so it should be more time consuming to kill them than difficult... unless of course you have no attack skills whatsoever... then I could see the problem... Qilin did say he was going to look into the quest a little deeper...

seems like nothing is done yet .so i was messing with the snake part like 8 hours .all the time i missed ,tried skills to get the dodge down ,even this misses .i got all the other parts done only the net part is undone .i just cant get pass it ,maybe my lvl is too low (206 champ) .any suggestions ?

well i have now tried on 3 diff chars and still no luck have yet again reportes it but i have yet to hear, it states clearly you must capture the snake to get proof not kill it

According to the information, the quest should be working as intended. The nets do not capture the snakes and grant you the item. Instead they just hold the snake in place for you to attack them. To hurt the snake, skills need to be used as they are immune to physical attacks. The item you are trying to receive also has a low drop rate and may take a while to receive them. Back again trying with another char - a level 213 mage with skills and to kill the venemous hooded asper is impossible. I have got it to zero health with skills and yet still a net will not finish it and ten minutes further with skills will not kill it.
The venemous hooded aspers are impossible to kill in my opinion, not just difficult but glitched to the point they can't die.
I can't believe 1. that the dev team seem to have never played the game or done this quest and don't know what they're talking about or 2. that they ignore all the reports / tickets and tell us we're doing it wrong.
I have 30 chars and half of them at least have done this quest in the past so when I tell them it's bugged they need to understand it's bugged.
They answered my ticket saying that the item I'm trying to drop is a rare one yet I'm not trying to drop an item from the mob, only to capture it with a net as the quest says. Always in the past 1 net over a venemous hooded asper would kill it and give the chance of receiving a captured venemous hooded asper towards the 3 required for the quest. Now though no amount of nets (I've tried at least 100 nets to date) will kill one and neither will skills.

I tryed Dual Scratch on this mob, but it cant be kiled when its buged and got 0 hp, so its usless .Also I Need Water quest is buged, only 1 of 3 cactuses gives water so anyway we cant finish all quests together.
